When I search the forum using Google for libflashplayer, I get a bunch of results
https://www.google.de/search?client=pal ... btnG=Suche
When I use the forum search and I get exactly 0, zero, zilch results
search.php?keywords=libflashplayer
Also searching for libflashplayer.so (the so gets ignored) or the use of wildcards (*) did not help.
But searching for *flash* returns for example these
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=8528&p=56704&hilit=*flash*#p56704
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=8260&p=54454&hilit ... %2A#p54454
posts.
Why? And can something be done about it? I know the built-in search modules for forums usually drop keywords that are too short and/or too common but this is neither short nor common. And I guess - sure, I am not sure about it - it was possible before.
I have recognized something similar for another keyword a while ago, unfortunately, I don't remember what exactly it was.
EDIT: Fun, now it finds this thread and a couple of totally unrelated ones.... looks like something is borked.

Re: Search for certain keywords doesn't work
I think something borked with the move+upgrade -- the search index has been recreated and seems more healthy now.

Why not simply redirect all searches to "$searchterms site:forum.palemoon.org" on Google or some other search engine?
Re: [Solved] Search for certain keywords doesn't work
Because search should not be tied into an external service, and crawlers don't get access to all boards. it would immediately destroy search in internal development boards, for example, for the people who have access to it.squarefractal wrote:Why not simply redirect all searches to "$searchterms site:forum.palemoon.org" on Google or some other search engine?

Also the internal search gives another type of search results, it usually provides some more context than for example the Google search. And, when you are on a slow connection, the internal search is usually much faster.
