Why Instagram.com so lag?

Post by grozaman » 2015-06-20, 20:09

It's okay on Chrome, for example, but on Pale Moon it's extremely lag! Try it.
(FX-8350, 6GB RAM).

I'm sorry, I am not experiencing this "lag" that you speak of.
It could be an add-on that is consuming too much RAM/CPU processes.

FX-6300 and 8GB RAM.

Ah! I'll have to make an account.
I'll test when I do.

I hope this gets noticed and fixed. I am using another browser just to browse Instagram because Pale Moon lags and hangs very much.

It looks to me the problem is the design of Instagram, causing Pale Moon to load and decode all media items and having to render them in one large container (which is something instagram could do a LOT better). As for a solution, that's not so trivial to work around. I'll have a look at it, but can't give a timeline for this right now.

Thanks, Moonchild!
I also think that Instagram's web design is the culprit since the lag happened after they changed its landscape. Before, Pale Moon renders the site fine, but now it lags very much.

But what confuses me is that Firefox and Google Chrome render the site very fine. No lags, no hangs.

Anyway, since you will be looking at this issue, we are going to be at ease. :D

I know that this doesn't solve your issue, but you may want to give websta IG viewer a try: http://websta.me/
