Hi Folks:
I continue to use the older AdBlock Plus (v2.6.8 I think - the one that no longer shows the status bar icon, but it still works). I have tried AdBlock Latitude as well and to me it just seems to impose a slight performance hit. Anyway, I notice as Pale Moon first loads (with either of these add-ons installed), menus are not selectable or they're responsiveness is seriously impaired. Home page rendering also seems quite slow as well. Everything works fine after a few seconds following the initial loading of Pale Moon.
I tried looking at content.interrupt.parsing and ui/notify settings. However I found when the add-ons were disabled the performance improved. I created a new profile, and ran similar experiments which gave the same results.
So can AdBlock Latitude be adjusted at the end user side to allow more responsiveness from the UI and rendering engine?
Thank you all for your help?

Off-topic:
So, this may have absolutely nothing to do with the whole slow when starting thing, but today when cleaning up my work PC I went into CCleaner\Tools\Startup\Firefox and found that there were a bunch of plugins that I didn't need and quite a few that were listed multiple times (possibly attempting to load multiple times). So, I cleaned up all if that and PM seemed to start a bit quicker. Might be worth a shot, unless I'm completely off my rocker.

Performance depends on the number of subscriptions you have -- too many will slow down the browser, as expected.
You could also use RequestPolicyContinued as a lightweight alternative if Adblock Latitude is just too slow for your computer.

The Next Generation of ABL should help performance issues. Assuming it is ABL causing them.

Well thanks to everyone for their responses. I am using FoxE9 (which brings the IE9 look to Pale Moon), and when I disabled it, I got an oh-so slight improvement in load time page rendering and UI responsiveness. But disabling AdBlock brought the most improvement.
I'll wait patiently for the next AdBlock Latitude release. Cheers All!

There will always be somewhat of a performance hit with any complex extension such as any member of the Adblock Family because it does so much. Sort of the price you pay for such complete coverage.
