[Solved] 24.7.1/24.8b1 confusion
I had this issue yesterday when I installed Pale Moon 24.7.1 and set automatic updates, after a while I noticed it automatically updated to 24.8 b1 and that's when every website I went to even google.com gave me certificate erros
So I uninstalled it and reinstalled 24.7.1 again but this time I've disabled automatic updates

Re: Certificates issue
There is no automatic update to 24.8 b1 (it literally doesn't exist and there is no mar file to update anything to that version). If you install 24.7.1 there will be no automatic update, so what you're saying is absolute nonsense.MaXimus wrote:I had this issue yesterday when I installed Pale Moon 24.7.1 and set automatic updates, after a while I noticed it automatically updated to 24.8 b1 and that's when every website I went to even google.com gave me certificate erros

When I clicked about I did see that version. happened thrice now. I just uninstalled Pale Moon so I don't have a screenshot handyMoonchild wrote:There is no automatic update to 24.8 b1 (it literally doesn't exist and there is no mar file to update anything to that version). Re: Certificates issue
It did not update to 24.8 (there is no 24.8).

It's an error that I discovered on August 6th. The explanation is in the topic link below which I started.

So @ Moon Child, it is NOT non-sense that I said I saw version 24.8 b1
Especially when you posted this:
hehMoonchild wrote:Hmm, I did juggle some branches around when building but this shouldn't have happened unless the Mozilla build system hiccupped and left a wrong version number in the installer. I'm fairly sure I did a full clobber before building the releases, though, which would make this a little odd. In any case, it should be completely harmless.
Re: Certificates issue
It is nonsense.
The about box doesn't show this beta version, it's only in "programs and features" control panel i.e. in the installer script.
There is no update available after installing 24.7.1. Saying you were served one places you in a different universe
That is what I called nonsense. Very specifically (read my post).
You could only have seen the version if you mistook your windows control panel installed programs list for the Pale Moon about box (is that even possible?). I guess since you went into it to uninstall Pale Moon that's when you saw it.
(Not to play devil's advocate, but are you just trying to cause a stir here after removing Pale Moon, based on a triviality, or what? Be honest.)

I guess I deserve this now:
