Re: No way to send a PM
I just sent you a private message and since it went to my Outbox, I'm assuming you will get it. Just wanted to make sure my private messaging was working.

Yeah, i got it and was able to answer.
I don't have the problem anymore, not sure why it happened - I was connected. I'm not sure but I feel like I already encoutered it earlier.
EDIT : Error again if I try now. Something is wrong.

Hey Night Wing,Night Wing wrote:I just sent you a private message and since it went to my Outbox, I'm assuming you will get it. Just wanted to make sure my private messaging was working.
I'm experiencing the same problem. The reply I sent is stuck in the Outbox. I decided to edit my sent message while it was in my outbox so it's possible the recipient received the same message more than once, edits and all. If so, I apologize to the recipient. Can you explain to me how this works? Once I compose the message and click on Submit does the Submit button act as a "Send" button. If that's the way it works why does my message remain in the Outbox? I've previously sent three messages to different recipients and they show up in "Sent messages".
Please excuse my ignorance.

The message doesn't really have to go anywhere (it stays on the server, in a database). It shows in your inbox until the recipient opens it, then in your Sent folder. Or simply, it's magic.

Thank you, mikeysc, for your prompt and educational reply. I"m just a simple user. My knowledge is basically limited to my activities as a cement mason/plasterer over a forty year period and I don't think there's much room left in my pea sized brain for the storage of additional data.mikeysc wrote:The message doesn't really have to go anywhere (it stays on the server, in a database). My apologies to the recipient.

Glad this was listed. So it stays in the outbox, until the recipient picks it up, when it is also copied to the sent folder.Sichuan wrote:mikeysc wrote:The message doesn't really have to go anywhere (it stays on the server, in a database). It is somewhat confusing though, as it says 'sent' when you submit it, but doesn't appear in sent, as it does in e-mail programs.
After seeing a p msg waiting in the outbox for several hours, and another one for a day or so, then appear in sent, I put two and two together. Live and learn!
