I guess most add-ons have toolbar buttons. They can be moved to whatever toolbar you want with drag-and-drop from View->Toolbars->Customize. One can even create a new empty toolbar (I have done one for add-on buttons ... as mentioned above the "imperfection" is that such buttons (at least the text version I use) are mnot perfectly vertically aligned)
