Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
Please make the Atom Synndication Feed app.php/feed/forum/1 auto-dicovereable from palemoon.org, so that news readers such as Liferea would be able to detect it.

Re: Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
We use standard feed metas (link elements) that are automatically discovered and picked up by clients, including the Pale Moon browser (See rss logo in the address bar -- click it).
Code: Select all
<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Feed - Pale Moon forum" href="/app.php/feed">I'm not going to install a gemini client just to read what you don't want to include in your posts here, especially since it's all your content anyway.

Re: Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
I think OP is suggesting the forum's RSS be discoverable from the project's homepage too, i.e. www.palemoon.org. I remember a clickable RSS icon being in the website itself linking to the Announcements forum board. I guess OP wants that back plus the link tag.
Off-topic:
OP's gemini host has a gem-to-web proxy at https://gemini.woodpeckersnest.space/, which I used to read their gemini-exclusive content.

Yes. That would be good over palemoon.org too.Moonchild wrote: ↑2025-04-11, 09:46We use standard feed metas (link elements) that are automatically discovered and picked up by clients, including the Pale Moon browser (See rss logo in the address bar -- click it).Not sure what else you expect.Code: Select all

I refer to my articles because it is not sensible to post it as a post over this forum.
Would an HTTP link be acceptable?

Re: Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
It is. It was instated to indicate the hover state when we still had more active social channels (would be a vertical strip, with the hovered one being "lifted out"). It does look a little odd with just the one icon, I agree. I might disable it or change it to a different effect.

Re: Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
The main website doesn't have its own feed, since it doesn't actually contain feed content. Just adding that to the website when it's actually a feed from the forum is wrong, IMHO. I won't be doing that. The top-right icon is there to link to it if you want it.

Looks like it's being blocked by uBlock filters I have enabled which are:Moonchild wrote: ↑2025-04-11, 12:37That hasn't gone anywhere.jobbautista9 wrote: ↑2025-04-11, 12:26RSS be discoverable from the project's homepage too, i.e. www.palemoon.org. Re: Atom feed to be auto-discovereable
Well it was a social widget strip before. I guess I can rename it or just make it anonymous at this point, if lists are blocking it.jobbautista9 wrote: ↑2025-04-12, 01:46The id of the ul tag that contains the RSS icon has "social" in it which triggers the mentioned filters...
EDIT: live now. let me know if that dodges the blanket blocking.

Before your change, it didn't show for me either, but it does show now.Moonchild wrote: ↑2025-04-12, 09:41Well it was a social widget strip before.
