Transferring Session Manager data between computers

Post by NorrinRadd » 2020-05-22, 06:52

Is it possible to transfer Session Manager data from one computer to another? I'd like to copy my saved sessions from this computer to another, but I have no idea how to go about it, or if it's even possible.

Is "Session Manager" an extension, or are you speaking of PM's built-in Session Restore feature?
Never mind, I now see this is in the 'Browser extensions' thread.

There should be some files in your profile used by the extension.
If you transfer them over you might be able to recover your sessions in the other computer.

Well if it is "Session Manager" 0.8.1.13 by Michael Kraft, it looks to save your sessions in a subdirectory in your Profile folder, named, /sessions/.

That's a start.

(After that, I'm guessing.)

Install Session Manager into the new computer/Profile.
Set it to 'Prompt for a session' on start up
Quit PM.

Copy the old /sessions/ directory from the old computer/Profile into the new computer/Profile.

Start PM & see if it you're prompted.
See if the expected sessions show up in that prompt.

Give it a test, safely, & see how it goes.
