Delete general.useragent.override

Post by us66mo » 2020-01-15, 08:12

Is there any way to permanently delete a default general.useragent in about:config?

There are several in there for websites I never use. When I modify them and reset them, they return to their original default state instead of being cued up for deletion upon restart.

Thanks!

You can only delete those you create yourself.
And don't delete them, they are more useful than you think.

They are not doing any harm if you never visit the websites in question.
Xenial puppy linux 32-bit.
Tahrpup 6.0.5.32 bit.
Pale moon 28.8.1.

What's your use case actually? You really don't need to worry about those rules when you don't visit those sites.

If you really, I said really, really want to be busy AFTER EACH update of Pale Moon, you could edit within omni.ja to prune those rules.

Don't ask (me) for help for that. I'm afraid I've already made someone angry for mentioning it. And don't forget; you could accidentally cripple more essential (default) configuration by editing that file.

So tl;dr what @New Tobin Paradigm said.

Well, I hope my warnings in my previous post were clear enough for us66mo.

Unfortunately some people need to learn things the hard way.

I wonder how many times us66mo will prune those rules till he figures out it's carrying coals to Newcastle

Well there's no reason to direct people to that hard way on purpose. Have some compassion, man!
