find-doctors map disabled under PM, but not opera

Post by Astara » 2019-10-06, 21:21

While accessing:
https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/northern-california/doctors-locations, with PM, I get a message
in middle of page "We're sorry, but this features is not available right now. Please come back later and try again."

This is a small msg in the middle of a correctly displayed page (don't have to be logged in to access this content),
but encompasses an overview of N. Cal in Opera via an overview map from Google maps, and text search boxes
to search for Doctors or Locations in N. Cal.

I've tried disabling adblock SW, and all other scripts and requests seem to be permitted, so I'm not sure why it allows
Opera but not PM.

This is mostly a frustration issue as I can' work around the issue by accessing it through another browser, but I still wonder *why* it is blocking this -- if it is something at google or what. All calls to adobe seem to be blocked on the Opera browser, whereas only some of them on PM were blocked, but blocking those didn't seem to enable PM.

If someone else could peek at that URL and see if it shows the map for them on PM, at least that could point to my setup. Or if someone else has an idea of why it might be blocking PM (or if it is only allowing some browsers, or if PM isn't advertising a feature to the site...dunno).

Anyway, thought I'd mention it, especially since it involves google and they've been acting extra shady of late....

Thanks!

I clicked on your link and the doctors map renders properly for me showing northern california. The zip code search box also works. The location search does not work for me because I didn't allow the site to share my location so I'm assuming if I did allow for my location, the location search would work.

I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 28.7.1 running in 64 bit linux Mint 19.2 (Tina) Xfce. The only addons I'm using are NoSquint and uBlock Origin with UBO enabled. The site sees my user agent mode as Firefox Compatibility.

I'll have to switch over to my Windows 7 hard drive and report back.

I had no problems viewing this page and after allowing it in eMatrix the clickable map appeared with bubble help on map etc (bells and whistles) everything appears to be working fine for me.

I'm on my Windows 7 hard drive now and after clicking on the same link, everything is working for me with the same settings and extensions I use for windows Pale Moon.

The only difference is, I'm using 32 bit windows Pale Moon 28.7.1 running in 64 bit Windows 7 (Home Premium).

I got that "sorry" message with SeaMonkey, Pale Moon, Opera, and Slimjet. The only browser that gave me the proper page was Safari. I wonder if cookies have anything to do with that?

Check that you're accepting both cookies and local/dom storage (dom.storage.enabled = true).

Also, if you've reduced the quota amount for dom storage please reset that to its default (dom.storage.default_quota = 5120).
(Reducing this quota provoked the "sorry" message for me even when cookies/local storage were accepted.)

Close the kaiserpermanente page, clear their cookies plus cache, then try the page again. That's what worked for me.

I've tried disabling adblock
Perhaps you didn't disable it properly?

The problem occurs if you block the following script:
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps-api-v3 ... a/stats.js

AdGuard Tracking Protection filter (a.k.a. 'AdGuard Spyware filter') blocks it with the following rule:

Code: Select all

||maps.googleapis.com/*/stats.js
Other filters might be blocking it too (or other scripts which are required).

To allow the necessary scripts to run on the site, simply add this exception rule to your filters:

Code: Select all

@@||maps.googleapis.com^$script,domain=kaiserpermanente.org

After some short time later, (next time I tried to access the website), it was changed in layout and accessing parts of the website were no longer a problem.

Sorry didn't get back sooner, but w/the website completely changing and problem going away, I didn't remember to check back here.

Weird.
