Searching Source Code Searches the Page Instead
Search selection and Highlight All both seem to only have results on a page, not the view source popup for the page. If the page is then closed, the source code window's search returns 0 results for everything. As a workaround, navigating to view-source:URL manually lets search work normally. I have a feeling you're referencing the wrong parent somewhere?

This was already reported on github in Issue #793 (UXP).
I haven't been able to reproduce this, though, with the steps to reproduce there.
What exactly do you do to reproduce this problem?
