Moving storage directories

Post by Jim Logan » 2017-03-06, 03:41

I am setting up a new laptop, installed Fossamail 38 without incident. I used the backup tool to move everything over, again without incident. So, the tool restored by data to the old profile location on the C: drive, but on my new system, this is a smaller SSD drive. I would rather have it on my larger data drive, D: How do I do this? Just go into the Account settings and change the paths? But do I then have to move the profile folder as well? Thank you for any help.

Assuming you're using POP3 for the accounts, yes, you can change the local folder to a different path. When done, Fossamail will ask to restart; you would want to pause there and copy the data from the old folder to the new one, then issue a restart. After verifying it works as-intended, you can then delete the old location's content.
