Pale Moon 27.1.0b1 (Unstable Build)
Has ffmpeg replaced gstreamer in this build? My about:config shows media.gstreamer.enabled true. This may be because I tested with my profile from 27.0.3.

that pref doesn't exist by default; no pref referring to ffmpeg either (EDIT: sorry, I'm using Windows version if it matters)

This is a Linux only issue.GreenGeek wrote:that pref doesn't exist by default; no pref referring to ffmpeg either (EDIT: sorry, I'm using Windows version if it matters)

FFmpeg has replaced GStreamer for H.264 video, but GStreamer is still used for playing MP3 (for now).

Trava: Thanks for clarification. Everything working well so far.

Thanks for the report!

http://www.palemoon.org/unstable/releasenotes.shtml has some information that would have prevented asking an obvious question

Re: Pale Moon 27.1.0b1 (Unstable Build)
Trava says (above) gstreamer is still used for playing MP3 (for now). Release notes says "Removed the use of gstreamer". Hence my question.Moonchild wrote:http://www.palemoon.org/unstable/releasenotes.shtml has some information that would have prevented asking an obvious question

That was my first guess. I built it, but it said version 27.0.3. Which branch does contain 27.1.0b1?JustOff wrote:As usual

Re: Pale Moon 27.1.0b1 (Unstable Build)
Just to be clear, unstable builds are built from master and are rolling releases. it makes little to no sense to make specified or dedicated threads for "versions" of it. Instead you should just treat it as a development version and what is more important than the actual version will be the build date if you are reporting an issue or bug (it's listed in the about box). Making one thread for a "b1" can cover a development range spanning weeks or more and things in the thread can swiftly become obsolete or buried by obsolete issues.
Either make separate threads for issue or as requested post them on the github issue tracker so it can be properly classified and kept track of.

Now I'm a little confused because I just got b2 (win, auto update), while master is still b1Moonchild wrote:Just to be clear, unstable builds are built from master

With today's unstable build GStreamer support is now preffed off by default.Terryphi wrote:Has ffmpeg replaced gstreamer in this build? My about:config shows media.gstreamer.enabled true. This may be because I tested with my profile from 27.0.3.
