Autoplay and mutliprocess support questions

Post by paulri » 2016-12-02, 18:27

I've been tinkering with Pale Moon the last day or so. I have two questions:

(1) I would like to disable autoplay, specifically with videos on youtube or news sites. I have media.autoplay.enabled set to false, but that doesn't seem to do anything. Is there any suggestion or addon I need?

(2) I see in about:support that multiprocess is 0/1 (which means that feature is disabled). Would going into about:config and enabling it, do anything for the browser? Does PM have multiprocess support?

As far as autoplay is concerned, I have set to False two about:config entries, as described by Moonchild in the 24 Nov post in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8670&hilit=autoplay. Interestingly enough, autoplay seems to be disabled only until I click on a video on youtube. Once I play one, then all other videos then will load automatically.

Found on broch's post (Sat 27 June) in this thread (viewtopic.php?t=8670) another about:config entry. Media.webmd enabled or something like that. See the thread. I toggled it to false, and it seems to work on youtube for now.

OK done with that one.

Any answers to the mutilprocess support question up above?

You're likely to get roasted by a fire-breathing dragon ;)

No we don't have multi-process support in Mozilla's half-broken way and enabling it in about:config will likely make the browser crash or break altogether.
