unable to update
I cannot update from version 26.4.1. to the latest version. It seems to download but will not restart. If I restart manually it hasn't updated. Any advice?
Re: unable to update
Download the full Pale Moon version, wait for the download to complete then reboot and install it.
It sounds like Pale Moon isn't exiting in a timely fashion (security software being slow to check the new files in "the Cloud" or preventing the Pale Moon process from exiting quickly by checking the Session data being written to the Pale Moon Profile?), the reboot should fix the 2nd cause but you will still need to tune your AV to allow Pale Moon to close correctly or investigate why it isn't giving the Update files a clean bill of health promptly.

Re: unable to update
I'm having the same problem with the internal updater. I updated my work machine this morning with no issue, but two different machines at home now say Pale Moon is up to date. I have no AV/security software in place.
I can download the full installer and do it that way; just thought I'd mention it in case there's a problem with the internal update process/server/mirror, etc.
EDIT: Well, looks like the problem is that www.palemoon.org won't load. Cloudflare pops up an error real quick, then serves me a cached copy of the home page.

Re: unable to update
Yes, I just checked my PM and the response from the update server was very slow.
Re: unable to update
There's been some downtime (poorly timed on a release day!) due to kernel issues on the main web server requiring emergency maintenance.
The provider said it was solved but there seem to be some more issues. We're working on it.

UPDATE:Afterburst wrote:Unfortunately the node failed to boot. We've got the on-site techs looking at it now. Apologies for the inconvenience.
On-site technicians have been working on bringing the node back online; but suspect a hardware component is faulty and are continuing to work on diagnosing & replacing any defective hardware.

Re: unable to update
Resolved:
On site technicians have successfully booted the node and all VM's have booted. We are monitoring the situation.

Re: unable to update
Response time from Check for updates is now back to normal, less than a second.
Thanks, Moonchild.

Re: unable to update
Satrow's suggestion has worked. Now on the latest version. Thanks satrow.
Re: unable to update
No worries, now tweak your security software so that it doesn't interfere with Pale Moon's Profile, set up an exclusion or whitelist it.

Avast (Free) is my security. I have looked at the settings > components > file system field > customise > exclusions. But, then I'm stumped. How do I enter the Pale Moon Profile?satrow wrote:No worries, now tweak your security software so that it doesn't interfere with Pale Moon's Profile, set up an exclusion or whitelist it.
Would checking the 'X' in the Firefox box exclude Pale Moon?
Re: unable to update
Sorry, (Alt) Help > Troubleshooting information > Profile folder > Show Folder button (or about:support > Show Folder).
I use several different Profiles, so I use C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles to exclude them all.
I'm not sure where the [x] for Firefox is but it's unlikely to work to exclude Pale Moon that way.
