Re: Your Theme Song today

Post by Night Wing » 2025-09-02, 21:44

I am going to make a "2 for 1" post. One subject and a song. Unfortunately, this is going to be a long post.

I needed (and wanted) a new "mid tower" computer case. All of my business desktop towers, the space inside is a little "cramped". I needed and wanted a larger mid tower case, but the only options were "gaming" cases. Even though I do no gaming, I liked the larger mid size gaming cases.

I did a lot of research on mid tower gaming cases on YouTube. Since I am a detailed oriented person, I wanted a detailed review of a gaming case which showed the pros and cons of the case. Most reviews are short and mostly generalities.

Once case met my criteria. It is a Montech case. Specifically a Montech Air 903 Max. This case came with four, 140 mm fans and a fan hub. The price for this case was $89 (US) on Amazon with a two day delivery. The Montech Air 903 Base was $79 (US) on Amazon; but it only came with two 140 mm fans, one 120 mm fan and no fan hub. The "Max" was the better buy.

The video below is a "long" thirty-seven minute detailed review of this model. If you are not interested in seeing this video, you might want to skip this video and go right to the "song" at the end of this post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTUa0lhoJLQ

When the case arrived, it was packed really well. No damage. I put it together by using most of the hardware from my old HP business mid tower. The only changes I made was an "older/newer" much larger AMD graphics card and I also added more memory to boost it up to 64 GB. One last item, since the fans were RGB, I turned off the lights in the fans.

BTW; I ran across another video of the "Base" model, which is not the one I chose, but this one shows an actual "build" with the air flow demonstrated by smoke at the end of the video and I wanted to see the air flow. Just remember I am not into gaming so this guy's build is a true desktop gaming rig. If you do not want to see this video either, skip to the end of this post and listen to the song.

And while I was assembling this new mid tower computer, I was listening to some of my old songs in my song library. This song below caught my ear.

While I was helping someone in the Browser Support forum concerning Pale Moon with linux earlier today, I was listening to some music. One of the songs I was listening to while I was typing the post, this song was playing in the background. So it will be my theme song of the day.

Erasure - "A Little Respect" (with lyrics).

My retired friend from the Maritime industry who I worked with many years ago, sent me a surfing video. My friends is Japanese and he lives in Japan. He took up surfing after being around me.

He told me the waves in Japan where he surfs are small waves. One thing about small waves. They are constant one does not have to wait for a waves to surf (ride). The waves in the video look a lot like the waves down at Surfside Beach on the upper Texas coast where I occasionally surf, but most of my surfing is at Quintana Beach.

Still, small waves are fun to surf (ride) and small waves give a high wave count for riding as long as one is riding a prone surfing longboard with a minimum of nine feet in length.

The surfing video had two background songs in it. I recognized the first song, but I have no idea about the who sings the second song. The first song was sung by Michael Shynes. Since I liked the first song, it will be my theme song for the day.

Michael Shynes - "Night Of The Flood".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIfpE_GQxYo

But if you want to hear the song "without" seeing the surfing video, which is over six minutes in length, click on the second link below just for the song.

Thought I would choose an oldie for my theme song of the day. But first, a little history.

A black couple (man & wife) came into our computer shop looking for information on a mid tower desktop computer case they wanted to buy. They were in luck since my mid tower Montech Air 903 Max was in the shop.

After looking over my Montech, the black gentleman asked if I knew any songs by some black groups back in 1973. I rattled off a few which he liked. The black woman asked if I knew the Isley Brothers band and I said I did. I told her I had some songs from this band in my music library.

They asked if I could play one song from this group. Just from the way they looked at each other, I knew they had been married for many years. I asked them if I could ask them a personal question. The said they had no problems with that. I asked them how long had they been married?

They said they married in 1973 so they had been married for 53 years. The woman told me she did not like her future husband back in 1972, but somehow he had "grown" on her by the little things he had done for her and she soon realized she had met her "soul mate". They began dating and were married one year after they had met.

She told me she had played a little "hard to get", but she was glad she didn't scare him away. I told her I have a song for them. And that song is below, vintage 1973.

The Eisley Brothers - Who's That Lady".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0ROfKLmy2w

BTW, they ordered from the shop a Montech Air 903 Max like mine.

Today I was doing some backups on my desktop computer and I was in the mood for a song with a grundgy guitar sound in it. I chose this one below.

I was down at the computer repair shop working late last night and got home close to 9:00 PM. My wife was watching TV and she had a program on called, "Sheriff Country". I liked the show, but what caught my ear was a background song in it. The song sounded "dark and cold" with some good lyrics.

Maren Morris - "Beat The Devil" (with lyrics).

I've been busy down at the computer repair shop today. Since I was in the back room of the shop, while I was working I decided to listen to some southern rock music. The song below will be my theme song of the day.

Alannah Myles - "Black Velvet" (with lyrics).

Great song, performed by a very underrated band.
Quite high up on my own list of great bands though.

And another ripper by them, 'The World I know'...
