Actually yes, many people would be interested; and it would be beneficial to the project as well since it increases its visibility.
(Although some coordination with the team would be necessary to give more visibility to the PPAs.)

Cool, I've not done any PPA/packaging before but the instructions seemed to make sense...
Im happy to take a look in the coming weeks if there's backing from the key people here...

If it's something you're willing to create and maintain, I say go for it!
But as squarefractal said, some coordination would be good, and I'm sure that there are people here who would be willing to help test.

Do you think anyone wants to setup an 'official' Pale Moon repo on launchpad, or it is better to pick something random?

I would just create your own, and if all goes good we can add it to our list of officially endorsed builds.

Cool, I'll let you know how I get on... I'm not sure when I'll get to this, but it's on the to do list!

When Pale Moon is built with gcc 4.8.2, it causes some image rendering issues (
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4335).
I'm not familiar enough with Ubuntu or Launchpad to know if gcc 4.7 can be used instead.
Is there anyone using Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin who can test this? The PPA package for Precise uses gcc 4.6.3, it'd be nice to have a comparison (and I don't have time right now to download 12.04 and set up another VM).
I'm using Precise and have noticed this rendering issue (white) with resized images in some pages.
Another thing is when you close it, it often leaves a thread consuming the cpu and you have to kill the x-www-browser process.
The PPA is frozen on version 25.3.1.

Thanks for reporting. Until we can get a different PPA (or someone is able to reach Marián, which I have so far been unable to do), I'd suggest using the installer instead.
