PM Start Page ?

Unread post by Hextejas » 2015-03-19, 11:59

PM 25.2.1

I am beginning to like the PM start page so I have begun propogating it with stuff I use a lot.

However, I cannot figure out how to make a start icon that will activate a local executable.
It is a financial management package named KMyMoney.
It looks like the start page wants to start URLs.

Any ideas ?

thanks

Pale Moon is a web browser, not an application launcher ;)

This is not possible. You cannot add local files to the start portal because scripts on web pages are (for very good security reasons!) not allowed to access files on your harddisk.

The start portal is not intended to be a replacement for your start menu, disk explorer or desktop application icons. it is there to provide a start page for all things internet.

Darn, well that's perfectly reasonable. And it does an exemplary job (so far) for all things internet.
I like the start page so much that I was thinking that I could drag a desktop icon into another group in the start portal. Alas
