Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
.
I have just updated PM to v25.0.2 (x86)
Q1: Do I stay with Adblock Plus (pseudo static) -OR- wait until Adblock Latitude is released ?
I want to add the Fanboy's Annoyance List filters (by EazyList) to Adblock Plus (pseudo-static)
Q2: is Fanboy's Annoyance List ... compatible with ... Adblock Plus (pseudo static) ?
Q3: Will "EazyList" filters be compatible with Adblock Latitude, or will we have to manually add filters to ABL individually ?
Thank you

Get the Pseudo-Static now. ABL will use the same settings as ABP and the same identifier (as the pseudo-static ABP that is). It is ABE people that will have to re-set it back up.

Da hell's Adblock Latitude? And who'll be developing it?

Why will it no longer be called Adbock Plus (pseudo-static)?Matt A Tobin wrote:I am!
Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
Because the name and logo for ABP doesn't belong to me.. And they have declined to add direct support for Pale Moon.. So I am forking and going to reunify the two groups of users. Those using AdBlock Plus and those using AdBlock Edge. To a fork specifically with Pale Moon in mind and will satisfy both sets of users.Pnume wrote:Why will it no longer be called Adbock Plus (pseudo-static)?Matt A Tobin wrote:I am!

Thanks Tobin
I already have " Adblock Plus (pseudo static)" installed ...
I might be getting ahead of myself asking ...
Q1: Will the Plus/Edge EazyLists be compatible with ABL
- or is that still on the drawing board ?
- I am no expert in these matters just nosey like a ferret !
Am also watching Can we freely discuss the new Palemoon direction? Attachment(s) -AND- Adblock Plus workaround for Palemoon 64bit
... (latter applicable to PM x86 too)
- both worth subscribing to while PM finds its own feet.
Thank you for your supreme efforts

ABL is a fork of Adblock Plus.. of course it will be able to use the same filter lists. And yes.. despite my removal of the damned acceptable ads as ABE developer pointed out it is still just another filter list which can be added manually. Though due to ABP's questionable motives and unanswered questions I am not officially supporting this but it shouldn't break because it is JUST a filter list.
So we will have:
- it using supported Pale Moon technologies
- superior current and future compatibility
- cherry-picked updates from ABP
- MANUAL AND DELIBERATE CHOICE TO USE ACCEPTABLE ADS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DISCRETION BY MANUALLY ADDING IT AS JUST ANOTHER FILTER LIST (I am not gonna provide instructions either, you want it.. figure it out)
So I think we will be good to go.. also settles that whole branding rights thing
And finally, we will have ONE Adblocking add-on for Pale Moon users by the same me who brought you Pale Moon for Windows XP and "Sumozi", Binary Outcast!

Thanks Tobin
I don't want any white lists .. your comments elsewhere bought me up to speed on that.
Just want to minimize the crud ... black is my favourite colour.
- maintaining a white list is an exercise in futility ... like King Cnute ordering the ocean to recede.

Will Adblock Latitude incorporate the Element Hiding Helper?Matt A Tobin wrote:ABL is a fork of Adblock Plus.. of course it will be able to use the same filter lists. Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
I've tested Element Hiding Helper 1.3 (as released on AMO) and it works as-is with the preliminary ABL version we're testing. So if you want to use the element hiding helper, you can use the official AMO version

Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
Great news! Thanks. Any estimated date we can expect ABL?
Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
Hello,
will it also be possible to add filter subscriptions via a link? AdBlock Plus currently does not support this when installed in Pale Moon:
Kind regards,

Example link: abp:subscribe?location=https://raw.github.com/reek/anti-adbloc ... AdblockersPale Moon doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (abp) isn't associated with any program.
Kind regards,

I didn't even know it registered a protocol handler. I have no idea. However, you can just take the http part and add it manually.

@Tobin
Did you check if Adblock Latitude is working with Adblock Plus Popup addon ?
Thanks.

Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
I have ABE 2.1.5 working completely with PM 25.0.2 (x86) on WinNT6.0 (Vista) so I know it is possible.

Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
AdblockPlus has to be uninstalled/removed before adding AdBlock Plus (pseudo Static)
I uninstalled/removed both AdBlockPlus -AND- Element Hiding Helper
- all as a precaution
- rebooted Windows (Win7)
Then added added AdBlock Plus (pseudo Static) followed by Element Hiding Helper
- all works perfectly
Until ABL is ready for release middle clicking ABE icon toggles filters on and off.
- very simple

Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
Does this mean that when Adblock Latitude is released, it can simply be installed on top of Adblock Plus Pseudo-Static, like a regular update? Or should Adblock Plus Pseudo-Static be uninstalled, first?Matt A Tobin wrote:Get the Pseudo-Static now. Re: Adbock Plus (pseudo-static) version for PM
ABL will replace ABP Psuedo-Static.. Though users of ABE will have to uninstall.
