[SOLVED] Flash plugin

Unread post by arsivci » 2014-10-23, 07:30

Hey everyone!
Am having problems with Flash plugin in Pale Moon. The only way I can make it functional is by exporting MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH to "/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins" and running Pale Moon from terminal (as was suggested in the forum previously). Is there any place where this path is set? Apparently browser insists searching the plugin in /usr/lib, not /usr/lib64.

System: Slackware 14.1, 64 bit
Kernel: 3.10.30 smp
Pale Moon: 25.0.1 (x64)

Other than this, Pale Moon seems rock solid; thanks to everyone involved.

Putting your export statement in /etc/profile will do what you want.

I prefer to use manual Flash plugin installation.

- Uninstall your distro's default flashplugin via Synaptic or Software.
- Download Linux ".tar.gz" version of Flash plugin from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
- Extract libflashplayer.so to /opt/palemoon/browser/plugins as root. You may need to create "plugins" folder before doing that.

Note: Other browser in your system cannot use Pale Moon's Flash plugin with that way. Moreover, you will need to update the plugin manually by applying the same procedure.
