JPGs not showing correctly?
Can you guys take a look at this image or this image and see whether or not the colors look correct? Every time I see this image, no matter what website it's stored on, it looks like this:
It seems to be a problem exclusive to Pale Moon. When I look at it with other browsers, it's fine.

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
All looks okay here. Did you use the x64 version? Then you have a problem with your graphic driver.

When I clicked on the image links, it's looks exactly like the OP's screenshot.
This computer I'm using today is 64 bit and it's still running 64 bit linux Pale Moon (24.7.2). The graphics driver in this computer is not that old either. From June of this year.

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
I can't reproduce the issue, the image looks fine in all iterations of the program for me.
Can you please include the output of Help -> Troubleshooting information in this thread (Kindly use the Hide tag)?

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
This problem started happening for me when I was at 25.0.1.
Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
Hmm.. You're both using NoSquint, otherwise the setups are completely different (including which rendering back-end is in use, even).
Could it be NoSquint at fault? Are you using a strange zoom factor?

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
If I disable NoSquint, restore the original default settings, close the browser and then re-start the browser, the images still do not render correctly using linux PM (24.7.2).
It could have something to do with this older version of Pale Moon I'm using, NoSquint or maybe with linux Mint 17. It could be related to my old Nvidia GeForce 220 graphics card too. Either way, this doesn't bother me.

Off-topic:
I'll update to linux Pale Moon 25.0.1 when it's released since Windows Pale Moon 25.0.1 works very well for me.

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
I tried viewing the image with NoSquint enabled and disabled, and there's no difference.
I generally have the NoSquint settings on normal (100%), so I don't think that's the culprit.

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
I really can't think of anything else that might be the problem, considering it apparently happens on 2 completely different systems...
I assume neither of you has touched the color management (ICC/CMS) settings in Pale Moon/Pale Moon Commander?

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
I don't have Pale Moon Commander installed and I don't have enough computer knowledge to go messing around in the files of Pale Moon.Moonchild wrote:I assume neither of you has touched the color management (ICC/CMS) settings in Pale Moon/Pale Moon Commander?

What he said.
Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
I'm.. really not sure what else to suggest. I've tried viewing the images in all possible ways in Pale Moon (and several paint programs to verify), and it renders with the correct colors every single time.
The JPEG itself also seems to be fine, no corruption or anything, so...

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
Images display normally here, too. Try changing the hardware acceleration setting (options/advanced/general, then restart PM) and disabling all extensions (Help/restart with add-ons disabled) and plugins.

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
This seems to be an issue in Pale Moon and images with embedded prefernces? Images like the ones linked by 'Daikun' in the first message in this post.
I downloaded both images, made copies, and then opened the copies of the images in 'gimp 2.8.14' . I got the follow popup window in 'gimp':
Converted both copies and saved (exported). Once converted and opened locally in Pale Moon, they now look correct.
See here for a pre and post conversion comparison: ==> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/usbovcj4u1cl ... TC7qa?dl=0 <====> (Click on any image to enlarge)

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
Pale Moon is fully v4 ICC-aware and will apply the profiles used in images when found.martywd wrote:This seems to be an issue in Pale Moon and images with embedded prefernces? Images like the ones linked by 'Daikun' in the first message in this post.
There doesn't seem to be an issue with the embedded ICC profile, but this is why I asked if the people having problems had touched the color correction settings or not.
I'm therefore not sure if it's an ICC issue, because if the color profile was wrong I should have seen it as well.
Your converted files, were they saved with a different ICC profile or without an ICC profile?

Re: JPGs not showing correctly?
My 'gimp' skills are limited to resizing images, cropping, ... etc. I used 'gimp' as it comes installed with it's default settings. I wouldn't know where to even begin to look in 'gimp's' settings for this 'ICC profile' you type of?Moonchild wrote:.....

I have been using 'gimp' for years now to do the limited chores mentioned above and I have never open an image before in 'gimp' that yielded that popup window prompting a 'Convert to ...'. So when I saw this, I thought it might add a clue to why some PM users where seeing the 'wrong' colors in the images 'Daikun' had pointed to at the start of this thread.
I was wrong.
