Duck search settings don't work with PM

Post by Octopuss » 2025-09-14, 13:30

I am not sure why I find it hillarious because nowhere was it ever claimed DDG followed the same philosophy as PM.
Anyway, when I do any search with Duck, the settings wheel button underneath the search bar doesn't work at all.

PM 33.8.2 x64 with Ublock Origin (enabled or disabled, doesn't matter)

I'm not sure how this remark is relevant to a search page bug.

Confirmed. Maybe you want to send feedback to DDG about this (use their feedback button, thumb down, and write a description in "something else" since there is no predetermined canned report tag for this)

Try using the hamburger menu (three lines in upper right corner) and select settings.
The gear doesn't work for me either, can't scroll it.

Because Duck was heavily advocated here as THE search engine to fight the great evil Google is (which I don't disagree with), and somehow I expected it to follow the same development principles of PM, which obviously makes no sense, but that's how I internalized it, along with there being some sort of association between the two (which makes even less sense, obviously), so when the page didn't work in PM, my first reaction was WTF/LOL.

Don't know if it will solve this problem, but do try the DuckDuckGo Cookie Inserter userscript.

It does require an initial setup, but it's not too hard.

I am not sure don't know if it may interfere with the DDG partnership.
