Migration Thunderbird->Epyrus

(This question is not for me, I use a tty mail agent under Linux, but for a disabled friend which is on Windows. Since long I managed to have him using Pale Moon as browser, but I did not insist in suggesting Epyrus because of the lasnguage barrier. But now I see there is an Italian language pack for Epyrus).

Can one migrate the profile (smtp connections, address book, and archived mail folders) from Thunderbird to Epyrus in an easy way for a naive user ?

If it's a modern version of Thunderbird, I'm not sure the profile can be easily migrated at all.

Also, I have to admit that I would be hesitant to recommend Epyrus in its current state. I haven't updated it in a while, it doesn't work well with most e-mail providers (including the ones I rely on), and I am kind of slowly coming back to it after a long hiatus and trying to remember how to work on it.

For me, Epyrus works very well with my email providers (my Internet provider's email, Disroot and Gmail). I'm not sure what you can improve: Epyrus gets my emails, sends my emails, and gets my RSS feeds. What else is an email program meant to do? [rhetorical]

For me it works fine with gmail, yahoo, and my own mail server, as well as any ISP mail I've had that uses normal POP/SMTP or IMAP/SMTP. The only problematic one is Microsoft/Outlook. So I think you're overestimating the problems at least a little.

Agree Epyrus works great for many accounts over sehhhveral different backends, RSS servers, Calendar providers, and Contacts. Rough edge of Tasks is because backends implement it in various ways.

In the past, never got LDAP to work via Add-ons.

Annoyances come from sharing filters among different profiles/machines even though actual server data is the same. TB and all loses track because internal "account" metadata is different.

Works great for me too. Is there anyway I can import old emails from Thunderbird to Epyrus?

The Address Book is easy. Just export it in a format supported by Epyrus, and import it. LDIF works fine, for example.

Accounts and emails: I'd personally reconfigure them manually from scratch, but the free MailStore Home might be able to do the trick fairly easily. Haven't tried it. Don't know if it supports Epyrus. If it doesn't, no harm in asking. Should be easy for them.
Exporting Email

What else is there? For me, the Remote Content exceptions lists. If that list is big and carefully created over time, then it is probably going to be a pain to transfer it. But I'm sure there's some "unofficial" way to do that as well.

In any case, do not just transfer over the entire profile and hope for the best. You will break things, sooner or later.

I had all but the old emails done, but thanks for the suggestions. Discovered I can just select all the emails in Thunderbird, right click, save them to a folder, then drag and drop them into Epyrus
