I would disable your add-ons one by one until you find the culprit.
I have more than few and my curiosity isn't enough to do this. If this was a common or big problem, yes, I could help by doing the disabling, but right now the time to disable each one and then do a new reply and try to make an attachment seems too much, maybe later? Sorry.

Code: Select all

browser.cache.disk.enable: false
Maybe a long shot, but, what happens if you re-enable the disk cache?

There is always the old tick of binary search. Disable half of the extensions and see what happens. If the culprit is not in the first half, disable half of the second half and so on. 10 tires for 1024 cases !

browser.cache.disk.enable: false
I use Portable, so that is set to false, by default, & no issues posting images.

Another very long-shot, but after my uBO and eMatrix "reversing their order", I had to allow stuff in uBO to see images on here again.

Did that and restarted Pale Moon just to be sure, but problem remained.

That's a clever idea, I hadn't thought of doing that!

I don't have eMatrix installed, but that prompted me to turn off uBlock Origin, and now it works! Wow, thank you!

I am not sure why that worked, but I am happy to have that extension disabled for the Pale Moon forum.

I had recently clicked on the Update Now button in uBlock Origin, and hadn't on my other Laptop which is running the 64-bit version of Pale Moon. So that probably explains why that one still worked.

I read here "When you get problems with Pale Moon, the first step is to test if the Pale Moon Safe Mode" here:
Even before that, it's best to create a separate empty profile from the about:profiles page only for testing. Launch your broken site first in that profile, if it works then the problem is with an addon or setting in your regular profile. If it still doesn't, then a site problem or something that Pale Moon doesn't support. This way you also don't have to interrupt your session as would happen by restarting in safe mode since the testing profile is launched in a new browser instance.

That makes a lot of sense! And I could make a bookmark to about:profiles too.

Did I once read somewhere here that the about:profiles is less reliable than the Profile Manager that you can get with a special Pale Moon shortcut that includes an option? But maybe that is only for heavy duty profile use, because I am not sure exactly what was said, or if I am just making that up!

Yes, because about:profiles is part of the fashion that Chrome invented (and Firefox copied since 2011 or so) of not using any regular dialogs and putting everything in tabs when tabs are meant for rendering website content, not browser controls.
The erstwhile Tobin used to provide an extension called Profile Switcher which runs at browser startup and lets you choose what profile to load. There's a commandline shortcut as well that does the job but you'll have to look it up.

No extension is necessary for the startup profile manager.
For example, I keep 2 profiles, one for normal use and one bare-bones for testing - the browser asks me upon startup which to use; all of that is default Pale Moon behaviour.

Start Pale Moon with "palemoon.exe -profilemanager". In the manager you'll have a checkbox to ask every time on startup (which is what I use, since I don't often do a fresh start of the browser; no need) and buttons to create or choose profiles etc.

palemoon.exe -p
Very useful :)
