I could not get your link to work. So I thought I could do a work around using YouTube. I hope this is the song you mentioned in your post.

Sure, you can take whatever is after the "watch?v=" in a youtube link and put it at the end of an invidious link and get the same video most of the time.Night Wing wrote: ↑2025-06-12, 19:56@ andyprough

Vasily Akimov did a good job on those vocals. Not the easiest song to sing.

I'm not sure why, as it's not really similar, but it reminded me a little bit of Hiro no Tsuki by Akina Arai (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6ojLNsoi0w). Now that one is truly heart-rending.jobbautista9 wrote: ↑2025-06-13, 13:54"Romantic Romance Romancer" by the Touhou doujin music circle Seventh Heaven MAXION. I was listening to some music this morning while working on my linux backups on a few of my thumb/flash drives. I wanted something with a little country flair, but not too "twangy" if you get my drift. Went through my music library, chose this song and looped it.
Paul Vinson - "Empty Heart & Broken Dreams".

Have always loved Lily Allen's songs, but yesterday she was the subject of an interesting podcast that I regularly listen to.
In response, today, I am going to listen to her 4 albums, back to back and on repeat for most of the day.

Re: Your Theme Song today
This terrible world we live in right now, where people talk constantly; all the time... always messaging, always communicating. But are we really saying anything? Or is what we talk about, how we talk about it, what we say, the words we use, just there to maintain the undercurrent? Maybe we don't want to really say anything, don't want to break the silence, don't want to stand out and risk backlash. Don't want to say the wrong thing, because what people are so keen on doing is lash out at the smallest things and defeating the whole point of communication. It silences creativity, explorative speech and thought.
So with that thought, my theme song of today is "The Sound of Silence" (Paul Simon). But for the dark emotion, I have to go with the way David Draiman (Disturbed) sang it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4

Re: Your Theme Song today
I had to stop in at my local computer shop today for a few "items". When I went in and went to the back room for the items, the new employee the owner hired was working there on a laptop and listening to some "old" music.
I instantly recognized the song he was listening to and it was "Sacrifice" by Elton John. I said to him, "I didn't know you had this song in your music library". He told me, "It isn't my music library I am listening to. It is your music library."
I said to him it is a nice ballad song with good lyrics. He agreed. When I returned home and fired up my desktop tower, I went to YouTube to find it and decided to make this my theme song for today.
Elton John - "Sacrifice" (with lyrics).

Re: Your Theme Song today
Thought I would use this song for my theme for today. It has nice lyrics, good music sound and the guy has a good voice who is singing it. My wife and I will be celebrating 52 years of marriage this upcoming December (if we are both are still alive since we are both up in age now). And this song got me thinking about it.

Re: Your Theme Song today
My next door neighbor and I went down to the largest of the two private lakes in our subdivision to do a little freshwater standup paddleboarding. When we got down there just before the daylight, the bullfrogs were in "full chorus". My neighbor said to me, "Do you think we should capture a few frogs after our paddling session and have them for breakfast?"
I said to my neighbor, "If the HOA (Home Owners Association), found out about our "fresh caught skillet fried frog breakfast, the HOA would "slap us with a steep monetary fine and then skin us alive". We then both starting laughing.
Since the bull frogs were still croaking after our paddling session, I remembered a line from a southern rock song and that line was; "I can hear the bullfrog calling me". With that said, this song below will be my theme song for the day.
Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) - "Green River" (with lyrics).

Re: Your Theme Song today
I've been doing some research on new desktop tower computer "cases". Found one I really liked with lots of space. Easy to work on. Has upgrade capability also. It is a gaming computer, but if I pull the trigger on this case, I will not do any gaming.
But this topic in this forum is about "music" and "songs". Since I like to have background music (and songs) playing while I do research on any topic, this song below caught my "ear". And I liked the lyrics too.
Sombr - "Undressed" (with lyrics).

Re: Your Theme Song today
I had to run an errand earlier today and on my way back home, I stopped in at the computer shop where I volunteer at. The new guy we hired was still there working on a desktop tower computer.
And he was listening to some music. When he saw me, he said he wanted to ask me a question on a genre of music. I asked him what was the music question? He told me he had been listening to some real old (ancient by todays' standards) music in my music library and he wanted to know what was "doo-wop" music.
I asked him did he listen to some of the music in the sub folder which had the Doo Wop name? He told me he had not, but was curious about it. I told him doo wop music was "way before his time".
I told him back in the early sixties, all the individual singers, groups and band groups had a distinct sound. In other words, in todays' female singers, they almost sound alike voice wise.
He told me to pick a song in the that folder. So I picked a song by the all female group, "The Chiffons", which he liked and this will be my theme song of the day. A "blast from the past", my past, circa 1963 when I was 13 years old.
The Chiffons - "One Fine Day"
