What's your icon set? That looks kind of buuf-ish, but not like original buuf.

I really miss Aero and Windows 7 :(
Especially when you press windows key + tab and get a transparent carousel of open windows. Imagine dumping all those gorgeous visual effects and shiny 32 bit color icons for so called 'simple' and flat Windows 8 onwards.
I run classic theme on 16 bit color lol

My desktop slide show changes every ten minutes. I had captured this screenshot weeks ago for this thread, but forgot to post it until now. The localised Firefox is, in fact, Pale Moon.

It is common to think of our own time as standing at the apex of civilisation from which the deficiencies of preceding ages may patronisingly be viewed in the light of what is assumed to be progress. The reality is that in the long perspective of history the present century will not hold an enviable position unless the second half is to redeem its first.

New PC, new desktop.

Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0ghz, ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO Mobo + 32gb DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8gb DDR5, 512SSD and 2TB data. My fastest PC yet, quick by my standards. More than I require but still not enough for Win11.

I see that my initial impression of Win 11 isn't too far off then. My guess is that it is aimed directly and exclusively at Intel 12th gen and underperforms dramatically on older hardware as a result.

I know two/three computer professionals that cannot or will not install win11. If Linux was mature enough then we might see a migration of such people but it is a hard transfer and not undertaken lightly.
