Re: HBO MAX
You can thank Google's iron grip on the media market for that.
They control DRM on the web.

Re: HBO MAX
Never before has anyone ever had more than one browser installed. Shocking, I tell you.

So plenty adopt Pale Moon hoping to just use Pale Moon.
I personally just will not use a website if it does not work in Pale Moon. If there is a program or the like that I can use for that site that I do not object to, I may opt to use that for that site.
A lot of people would rather do with Chrome or Chrome clones if at all possible, and (in fact) attempt to do so.

Morons. I've had IE as a standby browser on Windows since forever, and Chrome is now in that exact same position. I keep Ungoogled Chromium for that, and Waterfox for the DRM for Netflix/Prime since Basilisk's DRM is effectively dead.

Right, but I think that the objection is that, given that Internet Explorer was the built-in browser for Windows (and predates this Mad Google age), it was perfectly sensible to have it as a standby. I also used Internet Explorer as a standby browser for the longest time.
But Google Chrome is explicitly the browser of the company that is doing its best to destroy the free and diverse Internet (as well as some other areas of tech). Yes, it has taken the position that Internet Explorer used to have, but it isn't Internet Explorer. It is Google's browser.
Generally, having a standby browser is the most sensible choice. But, in this environment, if one can manage to get away with not using Google Chrome at all, I would hardly discourage them from not using Google Chrome!
