Any RSS for new extensions or something?
Is there a way to get notified of new extensions added to the Addons section of PM website?

Re: Any RSS for new extensions or something?
Cool. That'd be very useful.
Re: Any RSS for new extensions or something?
There's an old extension called SiteDelta on CAA (that I've put up a fork request for) that can alert you to changes on pages for sites that lack RSS feeds. I've set that up for the addons site. Also useful given that RSS usage is dwindling among most popular sites now.

I will almost certainly add some form of RSS to Phoebus 3.0. Maybe just an overview, something you can sub for with Interlink.
Re: Any RSS for new extensions or something?
Yeah, just a heads up for newly added extensions will suffice, it doesn't have to be per sub-category.

You can blame social media for that.

Blame Google for deliberately excluding RSS support from Chrome and killing off Google Reader, and worst of all, Firefox for following suit recently by purging the very ability to detect feeds instead of just the Live Bookmarks feature that they claimed wasn't being used.
They could've retained feed detection and directed people to install an extension for it. Meanwhile, here we have Liveclick Lunar that further enhances the Live Bookmarks feature.
RSS was a simple alternative to algorithm determined posts showing up in Facebook/Twitter feeds and it still works great with the sites that continue to offer a feed.

@jars_ then why don't you go use Opera Presto or write an extension that clones Opera Presto's RSS reader?

Only if you think using a tab to render everything is a good idea and have never heard of Newsfox, which is powerful enough to be spun off as a standalone client with xulrunner if that were possible now. For casual RSS updates, such as new software releases or replies to forum posts on Stackexchange, Liveclick enhanced with Liveclick Lunar is great.

2 Moonchild. I am using now OperaMail for mail & RSS (~60) and mPage in PaleMoon to quickly access the most interesting sites(~20).
My skills are not enough to create an extension like SmartRSS/Feedbro/ErinomeRSS in Chrome
2 moonbat I was using Newsfox 3-4 years ago... it a "heavy" and full of bugs. But yes, it was a good attempt in the right direction.

Yeah, I find the RSS function of Interlink useful, due to the feed being inbox style.

I've submitted a fork of Update Scanner - under the name Update Alert, which can be used to check pages for updates. Will post here when it gets approved.moonbat wrote: ↑2021-04-08, 00:27There's an old extension called SiteDelta on CAA (that I've put up a fork request for) that can alert you to changes on pages for sites that lack RSS feeds. Personally I always prefer RSS feeds, when they exist.
