Re: Flash Plug-in
Download an older version of the Flash plugin and don't let it update.

Re: Flash Plug-in
Question is: do you trust a Chinese company distributing a flash plugin intended for use in mainland China only to be surveillance-free?
I think you may be opening a much bigger can of worms than a time bomb with Flash33/CN

Translating reviews from WOT (https://www.mywot.com/scorecard/flash.cn) will have you think twice before downloading.

Re: Flash Plug-in
I have downloaded and am using an old version of the adobe flash player projector and have downloaded literally hundreds of flash games to my local hard drive and they seem to run just fine without an internet connection etc. .
Flash games are the best in my humble opinion and shame on adobe...just give flash to the open source community and let them maintain it.
thousands of good games will disappear through the passage of time.

Time bomb defused, allies win!
There has to be a similar block of code in 64-bit version. Or figure out how does the highlighted double float precision value translate to EOL date and set it several years in the future. That way, the final version can be normally used after 12th January 2021.
It probably doesn't differ much from the last version without the time bomb, does it? Just some fixes for security bugs one is likely to never encounter?

Re: Flash Plug-in
The flash plugin is not so much a big deal with me as i use an older one...But if and when all the flash content domains etc go down as time progresses then the flash plugin will become in effect useless.
This is why for the sake of posterity and nostalgia i have downloaded 100gb of flashfiles of my own choosing.
Bluemaxima flashpoint is not very stable on linux it would seem so that is not an option anymore.

Re: Flash Plug-in
Oh, you're right, that's simple.
So, find a hexadecimal string 000040463E6F7742 in NPSFWXX_32_0_0_465.dll (XX = bitness, either 32 or 64) with a hex editor, replace it with eg. 0000C02055148042, that will just change the year from 2021 to 2040. It's a unique string, so only one will be found as long as you got the right file.
The DLLs are in:
Will this happen? Someone's working on Ruffle, a new Flash emulator, the only thing that will run on other web browsers that support only web extensions.

I was just curious if it would be a big deal to make the latest one run. But if all Flash content disappears and you don't have it archived locally, that's indeed a problem.Moonraker wrote: ↑2021-01-03, 21:43The flash plugin is not so much a big deal with me as i use an older one...But if and when all the flash content domains etc go down as time progresses then the flash plugin will become in effect useless.

Re: Flash Plug-in
The internet archive has an interesting flash emulator up and running..However i have not witnessed much archived material from the big game domains like newgrounds and armor games etc.I suppose most have either just gone bang or are converting to the new technology.

Re: Flash Plug-in
It's not the 12th yet.
Once it is, it'll cease to work.

Re: Flash Plug-in
If you forward your operating system date to something anything post the 12th it may test it for you...im assuming the time bomb code uses the os date.
i am using 32.171 and it is not time bombed from what i can gather.

Re: Flash Plug-in
Can you please do me the favour and give me the setup file for the 32bit standalone flash player pre 32.0.0.371? It was nowhere to get, wasn't either on the Adobe website, Adobe has closed its archive years ago and made available only the latest versions, so I wonder how you could download an older version ...
