Nightwing I read your post and saw your screenshot cool thanks. I've tried the new interface before but every time I would go to YouTube I would have to turn on the dark interface every time I visit, is that the same with you?

where my classic using an extension it is black perfect all the time I visit. Also the classic you will see in my screenshot I don't even have the panel on the left-hand side.it's just pure videos the way I like it.I attached a screenshot

Hey then I saw there was an update available it frightened me… So panicking I saved my user agent settings before I updated.

But then… Moon child I saw their message with a YouTube link disable polymer one I didn't quite know what it was but I do now. the update changed my YouTube to the new interface as I expected. did a quick check to see if it would hold its settings but no instantly used that disable polymer link and everything was back to exactly how I love it. for now anyway. thank you moon child.

Moon child staff you guys are so rock solid this is so cool. That was so nice of you. I really love this community a browser team that are real people and all us users it feels like were all together here like rebels a real team working to keep the best browser in the world running. I could not be more happy with everyone this is a great place.no this is the best place .

Okay so I have the new update everything is perfect (for now anyway) Thank you for everyone support.

thank you moon child team. :D

I have been using Youtube exclusively via the Greasemonkey userscript: YoutubeCenter by YePpha (Developer version) for almost 7 years now, all in all
https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter ... er-Version.
It is by far the best script I have come across for YT. Obviously Google broke a lot of its features over the years as they started moving away from the classic design, but the core features still work perfectly fine on the classic design (blocking ads, repeat function, aspect ratio, resize (player size) etc.

I'm also using the script: YT Old design 0.2 by Ayra_ch to get the cookies working for the classic design by default (in any case, this might be a workaround for people still wanting the old classic layout by itself)
https://cable.ayra.ch/tampermonkey/view ... gn.user.js

While I am also receiving the message that my browser won't be supported soon, I'll ride with these till the wheels fall off. Don't think I'll be able to use anything after that though. Ugh, the thought of it...

That upgrading AND changing user agent both work.

Not sure how more transparent I can be.

It appears that the YouTube Lazy Load extension, which worked* with the previous version to stop videos from playing right away when you open one in a new tab (not to be confused with AutoPlay, which can be toggled off in YouTube itself), now doesn't work for that purpose.

Anyone know of another way?

*When I say "worked," it wasn't perfect. Often, the first second of the video would play before it paused. But something about the new UI, I guess, has thrown it completely off its game now.

After PCLinuxOS update today to 28.8.2 (64 bit), I got that message too. Thanks to

Fear not, it is their user-agent sniffing at work; they will be retiring their old user interface currently default in Pale Moon. Despite what the message says, it is aimed at old firefox versions that can't support their newer interface. It thinks we are Firefox due to our override.

We will adjust!

Pale Moon has no trouble supporting their newer interface (the first version of it, anyway, we're working on v2 support) but at the time this UI was introduced on YouTube, it was considered undesirable by our users so we defaulted with an override giving us the old (faster) interface.
I am not worried about it. :)

the YouTube Lazy Load extension
For this extension problem (regardless if YouTube related) please post in the 'Browser extensions' section of the forum or in the alternative, in its GitHub issues.

I quit using downloader extensions. YT has changed and my old downloader (NetVideoHunter) stopped working. I now use the online downloader
I had two downloaders (one in case the other didn't work) and they both stopped working on the same day. So I looked around and found iTube Studio, which had a free trial (lasting for two tries). It impressed me enough to buy one year's worth of it. It updates itself every now and then and does a good job, what I want it to do (like download to mp4 but also download and rip to mp3). It has other talents that I don't think I'll ever use. I plan to renew my sub. I wouldn't mind having an extension-type program again for Pale Moon, but the one I had failed. So far, the updated Pale Moon (thanks to Night Wing) has no negative effect on iTube Studio (and it shouldn't, of course). However, I notice that YT has snuck the warning banner into IE11 now. I guess the solution for that is to move to Edge (ugh). I mostly use IE11 for buying things on line but rarely. I don't know about changing that habit.

When I visit YouTube with the Dark Theme which I prefer, the dark theme does not go away because I don't delete the cookie for YouTube.

As for the Panel on the left side, if I click on the 3 horizontal lines above the Panel in the new interface, the Panel slides over to the left side leaving a small vertical Panel about 1" in width.

One other item. I'm just a user of Pale Moon just like yourself. Since I've been a registered member on the PM forums site since October of 2011, some new members think I'm on Moonchild's staff, but I'm not.

Speaking just for myself, Pale Moon is a browser and when I find a very good browser, I stay with it and I have since 2011 with windows Pale Moon and then with linux Pale Moon from January of 2014.

Good thing is that two of my scripts work on it...
Care to share those scripts?
Here they are. The auto quality one is optional but you can modify it to whatever you wish I think. I have it at 480p for bandwidth reasons.

@ user88818

I took a screenshot of how the Panel on the left side in the new interface can slide further to the left to make a smaller Panel.

I'm back… That link I think moon child made for us didn't really work https://www.youtube.com/?disable_polymer=1 it will open YouTube with the classic look all my extensions working perfectly but if you click on a video or any navigation it will resort to the new version.

Nightwing I can try again but I tried saving all my cookies maybe I did something wrong. Anyway I'm using the user agent again it's working perfectly for me. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 PaleMoon/28.8.2 it's a slight mod probably not important it just brings up classic the way I like it. I'll use it until I can't.

some of the other things I saw people posting seem a bit complicated. I'll look into saving my cookies again when I have to use the new interface. But for now I'm pure black borderless perfect so I'll see how long I can go.

okay that's my story see you later :D

Take care

The end date of the whole thing was announced on the site. The thing will be discontinued next month which is March. The statement's here: https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/27596769

I've heard that apparently, it's just at the support level but I think they'll just kill the whole thing off. I trust Moonchild can optimize the Polymer layout so it doesn't lag as much. It's awful man that they're screwing us like this. I'll continue using the old layout until something happens. That's what scripts are for after all.

so i put the agent overrides, in... it stopped the messages, but the (new) youtube page was totally broken. no playlists... buncha blank round spots for icons?
Interestingly, that will happen if you put a very high version number in the UA, will look like eMatrix is blocking everything else, at least when I tried version 71.0, IIRC. Expect that to happen with version numbers higher than 60x.

OTOH, with YT Studio, it will be OK if you emulate Firefox 71.0, IIRC. In fact, it looks like you must remove "Pale Moon" from the UA override for YT Studio.

I believe the older YT uploader is next. Google intentionally refused to add the COPPA options to the "classic" uploader, AFAIK.

thank you that really opened my eyes for my expiration date… I left a comment change is not always better for them to review but you know Google they will just overpower whatever we think anyway.

Well I'll be figuring out my cookie situation because Night wing said his settings hold and he does not have to continually switch to black.

I'll figure it out. I use CC cleaner which shows the cookies and I've always saved anything from Google hoping the settings will stay but they never have.

I also looked around inside pale moon but never found any success there I didn't find really what I was looking for if I remember correctly. So you might expect me coming back saying what am I doing wrong next month. But I will try hard to at least make the new version stay black.

Thanks for the heads up on the information for classic destruction on YouTube

I have discord web opened in another Palemoon and having it AND youtube only open at the same time makes typing HELL in discord. It freezes for a second before the letters play catch up.
