Pale Moon and the GTK2 Oxygen theme

Unread post by arturo83 » 2019-11-29, 18:22

Hello everybody, I'm a new user of this great forum!
I'm still using Kubuntu 14.04 and I wish to use Pale Moon on my system.
I read in this forum about the incompatibility between Pale Moon and the GTK2 Oxygen theme.
So I tried installing Pale Moon. I used the last debian package from Steven Pusser and it worked. I also tried the last updated tarball package from the official web-site and it worked too.
Obviously I had to change the GTK2 engine from the Ogygen theme to the QtCurve theme, because if I leave the Oxygen theme, Pale Moon crashes as soon as I try to access the menus.
Now I just read here about the existence of a patched version of the GTK2 Ogygen theme.
So I visited the repository from Steven Pusser, but I arrived a bit late, since the section for Ubuntu 14.04 no longer exists; I only found the versions for Ubuntu 16.04 and later ones.
So, where can I download the patched version of the GTK2 Ogygen theme for Ubuntu 14.04?
I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

I just turned the 14.04 build back on for that package only: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show ... nes-oxygen

Do you think you could add the BinOC Applications to the fix?

I could, if you'd give me a list of the application names as they would appear to the theme.

Thank you very much for your help!
Now Pale Moon works correctly even with the GTK2 Oxygen theme!
I'd have another question. The last debian package of Pale Moon you've built for Ubuntu 14.04 requires the gcc-5 package from the Toolchain PPA.
However now I'm using the last updated tarball package of Pale Moon from the official web-site and it works well even without installing the gcc-5 package.
Should I anyway install the gcc-5 package too?

Compiler (gcc) is required only for building the package, not running it. So you do not need to install anything.

Yes, that's right!

At least for Pale Moon...
