If you played around with newsgroups (especially binaries) then you may have some really big storage files.

No binaries, only subscribed to 6-7 text newsgroups. Profile folder is 435 MB (ImapMail=374 MB, extensions=40, news=3).

It always does, every time Interlink starts. Same number.

edit: I always press Cancel.

You may have some weirdness in your mbox files. Compacting will likely solve it; how about not pressing cancel and letting it run? :)

I pressed Compact Now. The prompt keeps appearing at startup. Number has dropped to 427 MB. Re-selecting Compact Now does not change anything.

I know I got one prompt when I first used my profile but I haven't since had it reappear. Maybe go and manually compact each folder. See if that helps.

You may want to try and use a repair tool on your mbox files. Unexpected shutdown/powerloss and similar may cause issues.
e.g. https://www.bitrecover.com/mbox/fixer.html

(of course make backups before you do)

Thanks. I first did the quick and dirty fix suggested here (deleted all .msf files). The prompt has stopped appearing.

As an aside, msf repair is built into the client (in the properties pane of folders). I didn't think of the index throwing off the compacting calculation, but it makes sense

It just re-appeared. It does not appear every time though now and we are down to 50MB. If it keeps appearing, I'll probably delete and re-configure everything.

Well the mailnews refresh does include some long over due fixes in the routines so yeah it may just now be able to start to see some long standing issues it just wasn't even aware of before.

As a last resort you could do that but you could also just disable it asking you and let it just do what it is gonna do as well.

Here's something that looks like a bug. None of these mailto links autofill with the test version. They all work with the release/standard/current/stable version.

(how do you call it anyway?)

Thanks back2themoon, I discovered it this morning too. It is being looked into.

ALSO if you use the new mail alert popup you will notice the close button doesn't show on the version I released. That has been fixed already.

Not really.. Look, I am all for pissing random people off especially when they have it coming to them.. But not because of software that I release. So I want to make sure. So no news is no data. However, I do have info on a few different types of profiles so it should be fine I think.

Thanks for testing.
