Self-signed certificate

Self-signed certificate

When you add as exception an untrusted/invalid certificate (such as a self-signed or out-of-date certificate) for a website, what does that exactly do? Does it trust only that specific certificate, or does that simply mean that the browser won't check certificates for validity on that particular domain? I'm hoping it's the former, but I suspect it's the latter because in Preferences, the browser won't let me view the certificate after I've added the exception (View and Export do nothing) and the certificate name is listed as "(Not Stored)". Using PM 28.7.1

Bump? Interested in which of these happens:

1. PM saves the certificate or its thumbprint and checks it against the server's certificate the next time I visit this domain
2. PM will accept any sort of certificate the next time I visit this domain
