Re: Your Theme Song today
I think I've said it before, but it would be nice if people posting links to music would also explain why that particular song is a theme song for today for them.

I watched an old 1967 James Bond movie last night. There have been a lot of different actors who've played James Bond (Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig), but my favorite actor to play James Bond is Sean Connery. The movie last night was Jame Bond in Japan with Sean Connery. The movie was titled You Only Live Twice and the theme song was composed by John Barry. In this movie, Nancy Sinatra sings the opening title theme song for the movie.
For me, this song was the best song Nancy Sinatra recorded.
Nancy Sinatra - "You Only Live Twice".

Re: Your Theme Song today
I didn't see that as a req in the title, but okay by me, and from now on I will endeavor to do so. I just figured the songs explained my feelings and was attempting a kind of a "story" made up of many songs (was supposed to represent my feewings about my experience with PM)

*But that was not what the topic was about... I get it.

Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene 8 (Madis remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9KqM9dG6LU
Theme song for me today because air/sky is the theme for today; cool, crisp air for a change from the hot muggy stuff we've had. Setting up nextcloud after Dropbox decided to bug me once too often about "upgrading" to a plan that prices them out of the market. And it's just a kick-ass remix of a kick-ass song.

I watched a late movie last night. It was the sci-fi movie named, "Oblivion" with the main actors Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman and Melissa Leo. If you're into sci-fi, this movie will probably appeal to you.
One of the background music pieces in the movie was an instrumental titled, "Walking Up" performed by the band, M83. The song was composed by Anthony Gonzalez and Joseph Trapanese.

Re: Your Theme Song today
I was going through my library of music and ran across one of those songs I probably haven't listened to in 20 years. It is a song from the band, Mazzy Star with it's lead female singer, Hope Sandoval. The song was recorded in 1996. What caught my ear was Hope's soft voice and the harmonica she plays. So I looked on YouTube and I found the song.
Mazzy Star- "Flowers In December".

Re: Your Theme Song today
Ric Ocasek of the the band, The Cars, passed away suddenly from heart disease this past Sunday. I've always liked this band so I thought I would play my favorite Cars song, "Drive" in honor of Ric who composed and wrote the song.

Funny timing, I started playing their first album for my girlfriend just before you posted this.Night Wing wrote: ↑2019-09-16, 23:14Ric Ocasek of the the band, The Cars, passed away suddenly from heart disease this past Sunday. This is one of my favorite songs by The Cars: "Just What I Needed". I can't listen to this without thinking of the Circuit City commercials -- memories, just what I needed!

Everything but the Girl - "Kid"
(originally by The Pretenders, of course)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkyAMrH9-a0
I absolutely love this song. I've always taken it to be about unrequited love (which person, the singer or "Kid", I don't know), but you could hypothetically interpret it a number of ways.
Had a bit of frustration during the day that just ended, so it is quite fitting.

I watched a movie yesterday, Sunday, titled, "Lost In Translation'. It's main actors were Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson. One of the background songs in the movie is the one below sung by Bryan Ferry with the band, Roxy Music.

Don't ask me why, I generally don't like music from the 60s.

No. It will format your hard drive and eat your babies.
Hooktube is a yt alternate. It used to be a proper backdoor, but then Google's lawyers came calling and the creator did not run with his initial promise which was to open source his code and splash it all over the web. Google clearly has good lawyers.
It's still worthwhile as it stands tho - at least its not yt.
I don't use Google products. In this instance, I run a redirect script which captures yt links and redirects them to ht.

To me, the instrumental version simply reminds me of passing through a big city on a cool night.
