java not working after upgrade

Unread post by pleconte » 2019-07-01, 10:47

Well, I'm so sorry but after hours of effort without any results, I'm seeking help to make Java works with Pale Moon. My configuration is KDE neon 64. I have installed a few months ago Pale Moon and Java to access my hospital applications and it worked smoothly. Since two weeks, I'm unable to launch Java and therefore to access to the applications that I need.
Currently:
Pale Moon 28.5.2

Is the Plugin listed under about:plugins?
Check if /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so exists.

Just glancing at your info, two things immediately jump out at me. The Pale Moon version you're using is out of date. The newest version of linux Pale Moon is (28.6.1).

The second is your Adobe Flash is out of date as well. The newest version for linux Adobe Flash is (32.0.0.223).

You might want to update these two items and see if it solves your problem.

On a side note, since I use linux Mint, the newest versions of linux Adobe Flash automatically comes through my Mint's Update Manager. If you're installing Flash manually, you might want to keep yourself apprised on when linux Flash updates to a newer version.

What does about:plugins show?
What does Addons Manager -> Plugins show?

Java & browser bit-ness needs to be the same.
Java x32 needs broswer x32.
Java x64 needs browser x64.
