Sony Crackle
I was wondering why I am able to watch the video on the Sony Crackle website using Basilisk but it doesn't work using Pale Moon. Do I need to install a Plugin?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Sony Crackle
Here is a link to one of the TV shows. https://www.sonycrackle.com/watch/153
If it is DRM, how do I make it work in Pale Moon?
Thanks.

Re: Sony Crackle
Next question, what is "sonycrackle"?
What are we supposed to see there? (I see nothing! just like Sargent Schultz.)
Does "sonycrackle" need some sort of Sony "device"?
Or subscription?
Is it related to "Sony"? (It does seem that "Sony" is still in business.)
(My [cough] FF is DRM-free, so maybe that's playing in to my not seeing?)

Re: Sony Crackle
I see a "Not available in your region" image, and a fast searching results in this:
"Sony Crackle is a United States-based subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment which provides ad-supported video entertainment content in the form of streaming media."
Yep, I can believe it's not available for me.
Re: Sony Crackle
This means it most likely uses DRM to stream their content.
You can only make it work if they, like Netflix, offer a plugin-based alternative to EME. Pale Moon purposefully does not include in-browser DRM and never will.
Please ask Sony if they offer e.g. Silverlight or similar DRM-enabled media plugin support. It's unlikely that they do, Sony being Sony, but you can ask.
Failing that, you can continue to use Basilisk for your media needs.

Re: Sony Crackle
A big thank you for the information. I have a better understanding of all of it. I learn something new every day. Never too old.
Re: Sony Crackle
Actually, Moonchild: I once had a post-Australis Firefox installed (after I had already made Pale Moon my default browser) for the express purpose of playing Amazon Prime content back before I could access Amazon Prime through a Wii U. Would Basilisk work for this purpose? I would install it, if it would.
