Facebook problem with PM 28.6

Unread post by Rik11 » 2019-07-03, 17:10

Since the latest update to PM 28.6, most pictures within posts on Facebook are not showing. Many just show a description of what's in the picture that isn't displayed.

Getting in the console at picture entries often this error:
[HTTP/2.0 503 Service Unavailable

Btw. same issue happens here in Austria with IE and even Brave. Perhaps it is a general Facebook problem at the moment?

It's a Facebook problem, not a PM 28.6 problem.

Think it is a Facebook problem. It just coincidentally started at the same time as the PM update. Unfortunately don't see a way to delete this post.

I'm having problems with Facebook on v28.6 too. I tried removing it and going to v28.5.2 but since updated to the new version Facebook pictures do not load now. I even ran the profile backup tool and restored from a backup a month ago. NO pictures. For now I am finding Pale Moon a useless browser until this gets fixed.

You're right. You should use another browser that also won't work on Facebook because it's a Facebook problem as has already been discussed. You figure that would have been obvious when even the old version didn't work either. I hear Chrome is a good option for people who can't think for themselves. You should use that.

Cassette, I was frustrated with what happened and did not see that until AFTER I posted. I did not come looking for a flippant remarks, insults or condescending attitudes. I came here looking for help because people here are generally decent.

Please keep that in mind. Sorry if you get upset over this but that is the truth.

Off-topic:
Suggested course of action for next time:
  1. Are you upset, frustrated, or otherwise emotionally compromised? If yes, go to 2, otherwise, go to 3
  2. Have some tea, meditate, go for a walk, or perform whatever other task that calms your nerves and clears your head. Go to 1.
  3. Find appropriate topics on the subject.
  4. Read the relevant threads thoroughly -- it may already have information, answers or workarounds you need.
  5. If no satisfactory information is found, post a reply or if applicable, a new topic.
Looks like you skipped 1, 2 and 4 this time.

I do get upset when people post to a thread discussing an issue they are having without reading the thread first. At the time of your post there were only 6 posts for you to read. Often people find workarounds or solutions to issues and post them in the relevant thread. You found the thread and the answer was already posted. I see this happen all of the time and I usually just roll my eyes and move on. I just found this case especially frustrating because it was only one page for you to skim through.

Same thing was happening to me yesterday, but as of today it seems to be back to normal.
