Anyone else having trouble with Crunchyroll?

Unread post by Keiji » 2019-06-26, 05:31

This site worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now there is an odd black rectangle in the top left of the video area and it stays on its loading animation forever.

Works fine in Waterfox.

I have a premium (paid) account, I get the same result whether I view while logged in or while logged out (incognito window).

I have tried in Safe Mode with the same result (so it's not my extensions).

Guessing most likely a JavaScript incompatibility. Is there a user-agent tweak that might fix this or will we be waiting for some new ES6 feature to be added?

Operating system: Windows 10
Browser version: 28.5.2
32-bit or 64-bit?: 64-bit
Problem URL: Any Crunchyroll video e.g. https://www.crunchyroll.com/the-rising- ... ero-781148
Theme: Default I assume, I never installed one
Installed extensions:
Export Cookies - 1.2.1-signed.1-signed
Stylish - 2.1.1
uBlock Origin - 1.16.4.11
uBlock Origin Updater - 1.6.6
Installed plugins: (about:plugins) No installed plugins found

A ton of errors in the console about old/removed/deprecated functions of the libs in use. I'm surprised it works at all on other browsers.

First, you should contact the page owner as they are the one's who know what the video section of Chrunchyroll feature-wise needs to work without errors. Without any information nothing can be done ;) Would be interesting what they say to the following console errors:

ReferenceError: ttd_dom_ready is not defined
ReferenceError: gapi is not defined

Seems this page requires DRM - Pale Moon is not having DRM - Try it with Basilisk instead.

I am pretty sure that is is caused by blocking Google Analytics.

It's a distinct possibility. Anyone want to share their credentials so I could take a look see? You can always change the password later.
