Forum migrated
The forum has been migrated to phpBB 3.2.
Unfortunately this required a semi-clean install since the regular upgrade process was (yet again) a total bust for upgrading to a next point release. This was however necessary so our php installation can be upgraded to php7, something the previous point release did not support.
All themes have been disabled except for the stock prosilver at this time, because of the need to recreate them for phpBB 3.2.
Several extension-based functions (like marking a topic solved, etc.) have also been disabled or removed until 3.2 compatible alternatives can be instated -- if they exist in the first place.
It will take some time to get things slotted back into place on the forum. Please bear with us.

Re: Forum migrated
Just to know: I am not able to find the link to show all unread posts, i.e., the new posts to topics from the last time I read them (or marked them as read); it was placed near the top of the page.
The functionality is still working, since by using its url recovered from the Pale Moon history, I get the corresponding list of new posts.
Am I overseeing the link? If it is indeed missing, is it going to be restored at some point?
For now I just bookmarked it, since I find it really useful.

Firstly,
Secondly, until things are all slotted back into place, you can find an "Unread posts" link in the "Quick links" dropdown list under the phpBB logo in the upper right corner of the page.

Re: Forum migrated
Thanks for pointing out where to find the unread posts link; I really have overlooked it (sorry, in the previous post I used the wrong verb).

Re: Forum migrated
The forum link from the project home page points to "https://forum.palemoon.org/" which only shows a broken moon.
Re: Forum migrated
The icon for 'last unread posts' against posts is now a prominent red square unlike the old blue one. It alerted me immediately to the fact that 'something has changed'. Guess I can live with that one though...

Re: Forum migrated
Ditto for the "new posts", the one I use regularly. It is of course available in the "hamburger" icon "quick links". I saw already these shortcut disappearing from the forum "bar" when some PhpBB forum was updated, and then being put back by the admistrators. Can't remember whether this happened for the PM forum or others.
So I will be patient until they re-appear (one I call "new posts" from the menu, I can refresh it via browser "Reload"), I am just expressing a preference that shortcuts in the bar are repristinated.

Re: Forum migrated
I'm showing the broken moon server thingy also at the above address. I got to this new Pale Moon Forum site by going through the Pale Moon For Linux page. Using the buttons at the page of the page, by left clicking one button for the Forum page, it gave me this address below and this is how I reached this (phpBB 3.2). And the address seems to be a "shortcut".karlkracher wrote: ↑2019-04-18, 06:34The forum link from the project home page points to "https://forum.palemoon.org/" which only shows a broken moon.

Re: Forum migrated
Hard refresh should fix it.

Re: Forum migrated
Not an issue per se, but "Manage notifications" section is empty now -- past notifications have vanished.

Re: Forum migrated
Thanks for the tip. The hard refresh worked.

Re: Forum migrated
Odd ... I'm not seeing that. I have four notifications in there left to manage, and all of them are from before the migration.

Re: Forum migrated
The "unread posts" and "new posts" links are back on the navigation bar now. There's also a selection of a few flavors of the theme now, of which the "cool blue" has been made default. Also for those people who have trouble with fora in the light side of the spectrum, there's a dark style I grabbed to slide in that stays relatively close to what the normal layout is.

Re: Forum migrated
Thanks for letting us know! I tried visiting the forum the other day and it was showing that site error. I'm glad you're able to update your infra. I know what it's like if you can't upgrade and you're stuck with known bugs that have fixes in unobtainable releases.
Re: Forum migrated
Thanks for getting the Unread posts/New posts links back in the navigation bar.

Re: Forum migrated
Just for kicks, I tried all of the new flavors for the theme. Since I live out in the boondocks in the piney green woods of east Texas and I'm an outdoors type of person, I'm really digging the "forest" flavor theme.
Thanks for including the flavors.

Re: Forum migrated
Thank you for including a dark theme. It’s a nice one. I can now disable Advanced Night Mode for the forum .
Re: Forum migrated
OK I give up. I can't find where to change the theme/flavour on the forum. Been up and down and through the FAQs but I must be missing something. I like the forum stylee but it's a bit bright for me.
Also - is there a direct link from the forum to palemoon.org?
Please excuse my ignorance!
