Can you rephrase that? Exactly what do you want to clean?higrid wrote:How to clean the Palemoon browser
If you are looking to clear your cache, you can find that in Preferences > Advanced > Network tab > Cached Web Content section > "Clear Now" button.

What I mean by cleansing the browser:
The most well known program for cleaning Windows garbage and browser is CCleaner. Does anyone know of other better programs to clean up Windows and browser junk or the browser itself?
The CCleaner program has a cleaning option for browsers such as: Fire Fox, Opera, Google chrome. Palemoon is not unsupported by CCleaner. Is there any program scrypt executable file Exe whip which will clean up the garbage Palemoon
In the CCleaner program Each of the browsers has cleaning options such as:
Internet Cache
Internet History
Cookies
Download history
Last Download location
Session
Site Preferences
Saved from information
Saved Password
Compact Databases
How to tell what your browser is silencing Is it garbage or maybe plugs
How to speed up the operation of the Palemoon browser

What you call "garbage" isn't.
But if you want Pale Moon to clean your browsing data on shutdown, then you don't need external programs for that (and CCleaner has a bit of a bad reputation anyway).
See Preferences -> Privacy
Select "Use custom settings for history" which will display extra options.
Check "Clear history when Pale Moon closes"
If you want to check or add additional items to clean, click the Settings button next to that option.

You might want to check out Wise Care 365.

Re: How to clean the palemoon browser: program, script, executable file
I guess we're getting a bit off-topic here, but there are a bunch of cleaners, like Acelogix, Wise Care, System Ninja, Glary, Slim Cleaner Plus, BleachBit, Ashampoo WinOptimizer 16, etc. Is there any kind of consensus that one is generally the top dog, or one is better at cleaning anything browser related? Thanks.
EDIT: Of course, there's CCleaner.

The best cleaner is the one sitting in front of the screen.
My system has the same speed it had after the first customized install which I did when I bought the device.
As a rule of thumb don't install intrusive crap and download only from the vendor's official site.
Decent software often has a forum one can search before installation and the official site should give detailed information about what the software does and configuration options.

Uh, gepus, computers accumulate/create junk just sitting there turned on. Has nothing necessarily to do with installed software. My question stands. Thanks.

Re: How to clean the palemoon browser: program, script, executable file
Browser related, none.
You'd expect your browser to take care of itself.
(Over time, there have been occasions that particular files, if extremely large, may have had an adverse impact on browsing experience, but that is not the norm & if one was running into such situations they would most likely be aware of the situation & what to do to alleviate it. [downloads.rdf, at some point. Perhaps some huge junk in /storage/? I guess anything that may be in what one might consider above extreme has the potential to cause issues...])
Other then browser, none.
Maybe I just don't use programs that "misbehave" that I have to specifically "clean" them?
(Crap in Win10, or I guess I could say Win10 itself, is an entirely different matter.)

Re: How to clean the palemoon browser: program, script, executable file
Thanks, therube. Again, I'm not talking about any particular software. Pretty much everything that happens on a computer creates garbage. Cleaning utilities are meant to delete junk, however it got there; this is what I'm talking about. I don't try to nail down the source of garbage on my machine; I just want it gone. So, again, does one particular cleaning program stand out above the others in its ability to get rid of garbage on the machine? Thanks.

Maybe I was missing something during the last decades.van p wrote:Uh, gepus, computers accumulate/create junk just sitting there turned on.
Can you tell what that junk is? I mean those junk files should have also file extensions.
See my question above.van p wrote: Pretty much everything that happens on a computer creates garbage.
But at least you know what those files are. Do you?van p wrote: I don't try to nail down the source of garbage on my machine; I just want it gone.

Re: How to clean the palemoon browser: program, script, executable file
You know what they say... one man's junk is another man's...
I consider "junk" cleaning programs, as junk.
I know where junk tends to hide.
I know what junk is.
I know how to get rid of junk.
So if some junk bothers me, I go to it & don't rely on some junk program to do it for me.
Some people love Crap Cleaner.
Some people hate it.
Some forums love Crap Cleaner (dslreports, it seems).
Some forums hate it (mozillazine, for instance).
My method works for me.
If your method works for you...
Under normal circumstances, one would expect a correctly behaving program to take care of itself.
Your browser should take care of itself.
If there is something particular you don't like, say cookies, you browser affords you methods to "clean" cookies.
If you feel some Crap Cleaner does it "better" or "safer"...

Re: How to clean the palemoon browser: program, script, executable file
Both Windows Disk Cleanup and CCleaner categorize stuff they find and some can be easily attributed to things like Adobe, Nvidia, etc. I even see stuff for Edge and IE, which I just about never use. Windows Update creates a lot of garbage. Admittedly it all comes from somewhere/some process. Over time, I've learned what some stuff is that can be deleted, and I delete it. I don't pay attention to file extensions. Not everything cleans up after itself; that's why cleaners are necessary. Moonchild even mentioned once a Pale Moon folder that can be deleted, and I do. I shouldn't have to be a computer expert and comb every byte of my disk drive to find and remove detritus left behind. Since self-cleaning isn't done perfectly, my and a cleaner's efforts are necessary to get useless stuff off the machine. I go through this process once per week, and usually a few billions bytes are freed up. I couldn't do that all by myself; a cleaner is required. In the end, where it comes from isn't important, just that if it's not necessary, it shouldn't be there.

I'm looking for a cleaner cleaner.
