Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
This MacOS version of Pale Moon 28.2.1 does not work well with certain extensions. So far, I have found that with FireFTP 2.0.32 and JSview-revive 2.1.8_pm_v27, it keeps restarting and is very hard even to force quit. I managed to see part of an XML error message which kept flickering on and off, something about key_togglemute in chrome://browser/content/broswer.xul, line #248, column 2. I really need to use FireFTP, since I have a theme for Pale Moon that I need to update from time to time.

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
@Goodydino : Hmm. I just installed fireftp and used it to log in to one of my old accounts. No issues with it or the browser. Logged in, logged out, logged back in, transferred a file, disconnected, and quit 28.2.1 via menubar. I did notice your JSview extension was made for pm27. I didn't install that one. The only others i use are greasemonkey and abprime. I'd say maybe a conflict in that old extension or possibly a corrupt install of one of your extensions.
Cheers

By any chance, are you using a language pack? AFAIK v28.2.1 language packs don't include the audio indicator changes yet and may cause problems.Goodydino wrote:I managed to see part of an XML error message which kept flickering on and off, something about key_togglemute in chrome://browser/content/browser.xul, line #248, column 2.

FranklinDM,
I am using the en-GB language pack. You think removing that would help?

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
I think I can confirm that it is the en-GB language pack that was causing the problem. I set up a new profile without it, reinstalled everything else, and all is fine.
Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
When you build an unofficial Pale Moon package from the master branch, you should never publish it as a point release (i.e. 28.2.x), because this will cause issues with localization, exactly as described above. Instead, please always increase the major version (i.e. use 28.3.0a1 or higher), which will prevent users from installing an incompatible version of language packs.wicknix wrote:Unofficial NewMoon branded 28.2.1

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
I just noticed another problem with this build: History Menu > Clear Recent History does not clear the history. The preference setting to clear history when the browser closes does work, but I prefer the voluntary method to the automatic method.

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
I found an answer to my problem. With the preference setting in BetterPrivacy checked for "Prevent the Firefox 'Clear Recent History' functions from handling LSOs as usual cookies", for some reason the history will not clear from the menu. Clear that box, and everything works.

I did not find BetterPrivacy in Palemoon's add-on catalog.

It is not there. There is a copy here: https://github.com/xtraeme-xt/BetterPrivacy/releasesKlarkKentThe3rd wrote:I did not find BetterPrivacy in Palemoon's add-on catalog.

But isn't it risky to have an outdated (by 1 year) privacy add-on?

BetterPrivacy affects only Flash cookies and ping tracking. I do not see any problem with that.

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
I guess you're right. It's just that when a privacy/tracking add-on is outdated, companies would just find ways around it. It's like stopping the arms race, while the other side is still at it.

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
No BetterPrivacy for me, it seems. And no, I did disable protection and warning against add-ons.
EDIT: Well I'll be..... looks like all I needed to do was not open a new tab, and just click.

Re: Pale Moon 28.2.1 (mac64)
The language pack issues are my fault. You can go back to 28.1 or wait until I build 28.2.2 to resolve the issue.

There is a minor issue with YouTube video playback. The UI flashes often (when visible). I can live with it, but informing nevertheless.
