PM 28 breaks my favorite wx website

This site used to work fine, but not with the latest PM -- "http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Weathe ... n=USCA0982"

The site works in general, but if you scroll down to 10-Day Weather Forecast and select the Graph tab, nothing happens. Works fine in FF and Chrome and in the previous version of PM.

Yeah, tried safe mode etc., same results. The release notes say something about DOM enhancements, maybe this site does something screwy along those lines. Oh well ...

Graph tab is working good for me with PM 28.0.0 64-bit on Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

Maybe try a new profile.

Thanks for the tip tenseys. Indeed it works. Trouble is, there is a lot invested in my old profile. The fact that it works now might be more of a clue to the problem than a solution.

And I wondered what's the difference between a new profile and safe mode? Well preferences, for one thing. So with my old profile I reset preferences to factory. Lo and behold -- the site works fine.

So now I gotta figure out which setting it is that does the dirty deed. If anyone has a thought I'm all ears.

BTW, installing 28 did flip one of my tab settings -- "insert related tabs next to the current tab" -- I had set that to off, and it got turned on after the update. That was the only change I noticed.

This issue is solved, and overall I'm quite pleased with 28. There are many improvements.

The solution was simply resetting preferences and keeping everything else in my old profile. There is an option in Pale Moon Commander that does this for you. Is there a better way?

Of course I had to go in and set everything the way I like it, but that chore's done and did not take long. Out of curiosity I did a file compare between old and new versions of prefs.js. One thing that struck me was a fair amount of 'junk' -- things saved from some extension that I tried and removed. Wish I could find that smoking gun but, never mind.

I've seen the 'new profile' solution being offered quite often. I gotta wonder if a simple prefs reset might solve other folks problems as well

It seems that with PM 28, the site requires that indexedDB be enabled, which is actually the default
(dom.indexedDB.enabled = true), plus cookies, for the Graph tab to work.
The site doesn't require those with Tycho (PM 27.9.4).

Your Troubleshooting Information shows that you had disabled indexedDB.

I feel your pain Samspeed.

I had the same issue with a different website. Did everything you did and knew it was in the "prefs.fs" file ( or about:config ).

I changed "dom.indexedDB.enabled" from false to True. Fixed that website.

Thanks Cofeebreak and everyone else, I really hated to create another profile for one website.

Coffeebreak, you nailed it. That is the smoking gun. I wonder who sneaked into my prefs and changed that? Certainly not I, never even heard of indexedDB until today, but poking around this forum it seems to be quite a topic.
