Pale Moon 28: the Status Bar is gone

Unread post by KNTRO » 2018-08-17, 03:30

OMG! Where's the Status Bar?! :(

I've already tried by disabling it and re-enabling it from the View menu. Nothing happened. :?

Does the issue persist in safe mode?

Or failing that, a new profile?

I've had that issue happen with Pale Moon 27. In my case I believe it was caused by data corruption from a blue screen crash. Yay Windows 10! I ended up resetting user preferences from the "Restart in Safe Mode" option under the Help menu. That's a little less drastic than a new profile, but may fix the problem.

Hi KNTRO,

try this addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/configuration-mania-4420/versions/1.19.2014111601.1-signed

There you can configure some javascript options (via the tab Security/javascript), e.g. to prohibit changes of the the status bar.
You can find the settings under "Tools/Configuration Mania" or directly in the addons panel.

Greetings from Germany
Pale Moon 32.1.0 (64-bit), German locale, on Windows 10 pro (22H2)

Thanks everyone for commenting and suggesting how to solve this!

I have finally fixed it. I will say how I managed to do it, in case someone else faces this issue:
  1. Uncheck Status Bar from View > Toolbars
  2. Restart Pale Moon
  3. Check Status Bar and it should appear now
That's it!

Again, thanks everyone!
