^ It is discussed here: How to install uMatrix in Pale Moon 27 in GNU/Linux (Ubuntu). Don't you just hate it when the thread jumps to the next page (caret has little meaning here) --- Here's the prior post (in part) for context:

Might as well ask what has been asked before. The "search forum" feature was not too helpful, so......... how does one install NoScript again? I tried an earlier unofficial Mac build (27.9), and all I remember is only a certain version works with Pale Moon currently. It's 5.1.8.5 apparently, but I cannot find any thing but 5.1.8.6 on the official site.

Actually 5.1.8.6 IS the current "Classic" version that works with Pale Moon -- I'm currently using v5.1.8.6 myself and have been since it was released a few weeks ago.KlarkKentThe3rd wrote:Might as well ask what has been asked before. FYI I am using NS 5.1.5 and the problem continues however only w/ the first window loaded at startup. I now open another window and close faulty one and am living with that for now

Re: Want to talk about NoScript? Post here.
I still have not seen where you have tried Pale Moon in Safe Mode yet to see if the issue you have with the search and location bars sometimes not getting displayed gets resolved in "Safe Mode" (it's easy enough to test in "Safe Mode" - Just go to "Help" > "Restart in Safe Mode..." and then select the "Continue in Safe Mode" option ). Simply exiting the Pale Moon browser will end "Safe Mode" for you ... It's worth a try.wavymoon wrote:FYI I am using NS 5.1.5 and the problem continues however only w/ the first window loaded at startup. Sorry I took so long to respond.
It did not happen in safe mode FWIW.
I am living with it for now. I will try new update, perhaps it will work better for me.\
Thanks

PM 28.0 b5, 2018-08-01, on browser restart, NoScript icon does not persist on the Status Bar.
(Addons Manager -> NoScript, Disable/Enable sequence gets it back.)
(If you drag the NoScript icon from the Status Bar to somewhere else, it does persist a restart.)

I hope you don't think that this will be something the Pale Moon dev team is paying attention to, because we're nottherube wrote:PM 28.0 b5, 2018-08-01, on browser restart, NoScript icon does not persist on the status bar.

Whether you do or don't is up to you, I'm only stating what I see.
As I updated PM, as I hadn't even remembered I had NoScript installed, as I saw "oddities", on checking Addons Manager & realizing I had NoScript installed, it then became, "where did the [NoScript] icon go"?

Re: Want to talk about NoScript? Post here.
Hmm, I installed beta 5 the moment of its release and have to this date not had any problem with the NoScript icon -- the icon still remains where it always has the entire time (I have it located alone away from all other icons at the far left position of the address bar where it now remains). I have not had any add-on missing issues for a very long time and am currently using a total of 22 3rd-party (non-native extension) icons in my Pale Moon browser.therube wrote:PM 28.0 b5, 2018-08-01, on browser restart, NoScript icon does not persist on the Status Bar.

Re: Want to talk about NoScript? Post here.
With a quick look, this looks to have resolved itself in PM 28.0.0.1 (Windows 7 x64).PM 28.0 b5, 2018-08-01, on browser restart, NoScript icon does not persist on the Status Bar.
(Not sure that I ever tested it 28.0, but looking now, I'll note it is not working correctly in 28.0.
So the changes made for 28.0.0.1 do look to have helped in this situation.)

Re: Want to talk about NoScript? Post here.
For the record, the "changes" in 28.0.0.1 are different optimization flags on the Visual Studio 2015 compiler. There have been 0 code changes between 28.0.0 and 28.0.0.1therube wrote:With a quick look, this looks to have resolved itself in PM 28.0.0.1 (Windows 7 x64).PM 28.0 b5, 2018-08-01, on browser restart, NoScript icon does not persist on the Status Bar.

While I understand that, nonetheless the changes made have effected behavioral changes.

Should NoScript be considered malware?
viewtopic.php?f=46&t=17619
It seems to me the measures earnestly advised by Moonchild seem to suggest we are in fact dealing with a full-fledged malware.
It is a shame having to use this word for an extension which has proven needed and useful for years and which has been so well maintained, isn't it?
But the fact is (this is what I assume anyway, trusting Moonchild's assessment) NoScript seems to very often behave like malware, causing numerous problems.
Did its maintainer ever reply to Moonchild's post?
