PM 27.9.3 Loses Fullscreen on YouTube Videos

Unread post by LAR Grizzly » 2018-06-13, 03:01

Has anyone noticed this? When watching a series of videos (none in particular) in fullscreen on YouTube, when the video you're watching ends and the next one loads, the fullscreen is lost and the video goes back to regular screen mode. If fullscreen is set again, the next video goes back to regular screen when it's loaded, etc., etc...

I tried to duplicate what you're seeing in full screen mode and it doesn't happen for me. When I play a video in full screen mode, when the next YouTube video automatically started, the second video started to play in full screen mode as well. Just to experiment further, I let the second video automatically run in full screen mode and when it finished, a third video started to automatically play and it also started in full screen mode as well.

I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 27.9.3 running in 64 bit linux Mint 18.3 (Sylvia) Xfce. I have the defaults settings for videos in Pale Moon. Hardware acceleration is turned off. The only two addons I have are NoSquint and Adblock Latitude.

I also have linux Flash 30.0.0.113 installed as well set to "Always Activate". Some people loathe Flash but I'm not one of them since I've never had any problems with Flash in either linux Mint or Windows 7.

Edit: I have Firefox Compatibility by default as well.

I have my PM set up like yours except I have different add-ons. This just started with PM 27.9.3. I'll have to investigate it further when I get some more time. I just found it odd that this behavior cropped up after the last update. Everything was fine in v27.9.2.

As you can see from the release notes, .3 really is a small update and nothing has been touched that even comes near DOM fullscreen; so something else must be going on.

I felt that I had jumped the gun when I posted and decided to try to figure out what was causing this. I tried to delete my post (before it was replied to) but the forum wouldn't let me delete it! I'll play around with it for a while before posting back. Thanks Moonchild.

--Edit--

Well, I can't get it to act up today! The only thing different is that I rebooted the machine since yesterday. Go figure!

Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it's always something...

Just must have been a fluke. I watched a lot of YouTube videos today in fullscreen and everything worked as expected. Stupid computers!
