Browser zoom extension
Given that NoSquint is very old now, and ZoomPage seems to only be continuing as a WebExtension, I was thinking it would be nice to have an actual, updated replacement (especially one on the PaleMoon extension site). Not having done an extension before, are there any resources or documentation that I should take a look at? The pages on the PaleMoon developer site are empty, so not much help there.
Thanks!

You could try going through this tutorial: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... XUL_School
There's a lot of good information on MDN, despite much of what's relevant to Pale Moon being marked as obsolete.

Resources used by me:
Websites:
Websites:
- MDN Web Docs (especially the search tool): https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/
- The "obsolete content" archive: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Archive
- Pale Moon's xref: http://xref.palemoon.org/
- Mozilla's xref: https://dxr.mozilla.org/
- Error Console: Tools > Web Developer > Error Console
- DOM Inspector: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dom-inspector-6622/
- Element Inspector (DOMi add-on): https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/element-inspector/
Off-topic:
There are also http://developer.palemoon.org/Add-ons:Extensions/Toolkit and http://developer.palemoon.org/Add-ons:Extensions/Bootstrap, but they are currently empty. I can volunteer to write something about toolkit extensions, but why would anyone trust a user who only wrote three posts and can't even remember his own e-mail address...

Re: Browser zoom extension
Zoom Page 15.8 should work on Pale Moon. I use it. WebExtensions version of this add-on is Zoom Page WE.EbonJaeger wrote:Given that NoSquint is very old now, and ZoomPage seems to only be continuing as a WebExtension, I was thinking it would be nice to have an actual, updated replacement (especially one on the PaleMoon extension site). Thanks for the links, guys!
@_yuyu_: I am aware that it works, but there are no guarantees that it will still work in the future, as far as I am aware. Besides, it gives me something else to do, and new things to learn.

Appreciate this discussion. FWIW, I prefer NoSquint over the other zoom add-ons I've tried. It does just the right things, just the right way, without adding massive overhead and complexity. A genuine users' extension. I'd much prefer to see this one maintained, as it presently works.

Re: Browser zoom extension
Doing some testing, and you're right. I actually do like this better than Zoom Page, which I was using. I cloned the repo (the author made it public domain) and updated the install file to target Pale Moon and it seems to be working fine.VLMin wrote:Appreciate this discussion. Great! Would you be willing to share the clone/install file?

Re: Browser zoom extension
Yeah, I should be able to do that. I also sent the creator of NoSquint an email about me updating/maintaining it for Pale Moon, so we'll see where that goes.

Re: Browser zoom extension
I just got the reply from NoScript'sNoSquint's creator, and he fully supports me continuing the project here. So I'll begin the process of getting it on the PaleMoon add on page shortly.
EDIT:Oops, I did not mean to mark this as solved. I was trying to see if I could change the topic title. Lol. @Mods, could I have some assistance here? I don't see an option to un-solve. Thank you!

Er. Yes. Sorry, I typed that post on my phone and I wasn't awake enough to proof-read it, I guess. xD

Re: Browser zoom extension
Even though NoSquint 2.1.9.1 currently works perfectly, this is excellent news. Looking forward to your work and updates. Indeed, this is the more user-friendly zoom extension.

Re: Browser zoom extension
I also use NoSquint 2.1.9.1 in both linux and windows Pale Moon. Like others, I was concerned because I know Mozilla is eventually going to "kill off" the old NoSquint probably when Firefox 60.2.0 ESR is released and have it not being available anymore. With my poor eyesight, I especially like the way NoSquint remembers all of the settings I set for all of my favorite bookmarks. If NoSquint becomes an official addon for Pale Moon, I will be using it.
BTW, I only use two addons for Pale Moon and they are NoSquint 2.1.9.1 and Adblock Latitude 5.0.1 so NoSquint is very important to me.

Re: Browser zoom extension
Yes, it still works, right now the only changes are that I will be making sure it still works, and updating it if need be. Also doing user support, and bug fixes and features as necessary.
Also it will be hosted with the rest of the Pale Moon extensions, making it easier to find and install.
