AirBNB will not work with Palemoon

Unread post by Kalico » 2018-04-17, 14:14

I can't find any recent topic on this, but I cannot get Palemoon to render the AirBnB website for love nor money. No matter what compatibility mode I choose. I'm running Ubuntu Linux. Hope this feedback helps someone.

It works here. Have you tried Help/Restart in Safe Mode?

Works here too.

Make sure cookies and local storage are enabled, and that scripts from muscache.com are not blocked.
(If those are disabled/blocked airbnb will not render.)

Just a note for anyone who would prefer to keep their adblocker active...
It's not necessary to disable uBO for airbnb to work.

"Nooping" muscache.com was sufficient for me.
(It was blocked only because I block 3rd party scripts by default.)

Sorry I've been a while getting back on this.

Ok, so I've disabled all add-ons, including UBlock Origin and NoScript (though I had allowed Airbnb.co.uk anyway. No difference I'm afraid. It's odd.

I've tried the Firefox compatibility, plus Gecko and Native, but that changes nothing.

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Palemoon 27.6.2 64-bit. I love PM and won't swap away from it, despite this. Just a pain in the butt.

Thanks for all your help. Happy to try any other suggestions.

Is local storage enabled? ( dom.storage.enabled = true )
User agent settings, btw, don't seem to matter here; I use native, but FF compat worked equally well for me.

airbnb.co.uk works fine for me, same as airbnb.com.

As best as I can tell, in addition to allowing stuff from airbnb.co.uk itself...

These are the hard requirements to enable the site to display:
(apply as appropriate to your own add-on/settings environment)
  • allow cookies on airbnb.co.uk
  • allow local storage (about:config -> dom.storage.enabled = true )
  • allow scripts/content from muscache.com
    (as well as from airbnb.co.uk)

@ Kalico

When you open up the web console, what do you read ?

Just a thought and the reason I quit using Noscript. You may have to uninstall Noscript to get all of the stuff from effecting PM.

I had many pages that would not work no matter what I did and the only way to fix it was to completely uninstall it.

Besides, Ublock will do the same thing but better.

Update: Now that I think of it, I may have had to start over on my profile because of Noscript.
