Problems with https://familysearch.org

Unread post by doffen » 2018-02-06, 07:17

I run PM 27.7.2 in Puppylinux Lucid 5.2.8.7.
There are lots of pages in familysearch.org that cannot be viewed, I cannot access my profile, copies of records will not focus so they can be read. Anyone else had these problems?

I had an old FF 41.0.2 which I loaded, and then I could access my profile, many more pages were viewable, but still the copied records would not focus.

Browsed that site at random, no visible errors.
Point some exact links, and to be accessible without login.

fedor2, unfortunately one has to be logged in to familysearch.org to make a search now, that is a recent change.

I sent them an email, and despite informing them of my use of PM in Linux, I first got the standard Windoze blabber. I complained about that, and got a new answer this afternoon.
Thank for replying back, Unfortunately Familysearch.org does not support Palemoon browsers. If you wish to continue using our site, You will need to switch to a supported browser, Below are all the Browsers currently supported by familysearch.org
These browsers are fully supported:

Google Chrome: The current version and one previous
Apple Safari: The current version and one previous
Mozilla Firefox: The current version and one previous
Microsoft Edge: The current version and one previous
It is beyond me why someone make a great site, and stuff it with things that cannot be read by an older browser. Palemoon cannot even read a scanned copy of an old census, which are stored as ordinary .png and .jpg files! FS have the largest genealogy databases on the planet, and it is accessed by people all over the world, including a lot of people that cannot afford the latest PCs and OSs, and cannot use the latest browsers.
Where is the logic in that?
And yes, I told them that.
