You could try the Password Exporter v1.2.1.1-signed Pale Moon compatible AMO version add-on.
Current Pale Moon(x86) Release | WIN10 | I5 CPU, 1.7 GHz, 6GB RAM, 500GB HD[20GB SSD]

Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
Password Exporter mentioned above can read passwords only from its own backups, but I forked it as Password Backup Tool and added the ability to import from Chromium based browsers running on Windows.
Just open Import Passwords dialog and paste the path to the password database for the corresponding browser from this list:
or manually navigate to the required profile and select "Login Data" file.
Don't forget to backup your current passwords (or the profile as a whole) before any experiments
UPD: Now on Pale Moon add-ons site: https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/password-backup-tool/
Just open Import Passwords dialog and paste the path to the password database for the corresponding browser from this list:
Code: Select all
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Chromium\User Data\Default\Login Data"
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Login Data"
"%APPDATA%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Login Data"
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Login Data"
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data\Default\Login Data"
Don't forget to backup your current passwords (or the profile as a whole) before any experiments

But, wait.... the extension couldn't get any rows from "Login Data" file.JustOff wrote:Password Exporter mentioned above can read passwords only from its own backups, but I forked it as Password Backup Tool and added the ability to import from Chromium based browsers running on Windows.

Must Opera be closed first?

0 of 113 passwords were imported, please click to "View Details" to find why and PM me the results (there will be no passwords).Latitude wrote:It works!

No. I think it works correctly.JustOff wrote: 0 of 113 passwords were imported, please click to "View Details" to find why and PM me the results (there will be no passwords).
Before that, in the initial launch of the extension, it could transfer 93 of 113 passwords. And, I forgot to take a screenshot of it.
That screenshot were taken in the second launch.
The another 20 passwords belong to the URL hosts which have existed in Pale Moon's password manager.
Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
Ok then! But please note, that any data that contain non-ASCII characters can be handled improperly. This is inherited from the parent add-on, I'll try to fix it later.Latitude wrote:No. I think it works correctly.

So, we could type Chinese characters as our password?JustOff wrote: Ok then! But please note, that any data that contain non-ASCII characters can be handled improperly. This is inherited from the parent add-on, I'll try to fix it later.

Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
You can "type" any character supported by you OS in password field (and other input fields too), but "accepting" that as a valid password is upto the service you are using.JustOff wrote: So, we could type Chinese characters as our password?

Do you know any sites which could accept non-ASCII (unicode?) passwords?adesh wrote: You can "type" any character supported by you OS in password field (and other input fields too), but "accepting" that as a valid password is upto the service you are using.
But, I once read somewhere about unicode web domain.

Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
I haven't personally used non-English passwords myself since it is inconvenient to type those.Latitude wrote:Do you know any sites which could accept non-ASCII (unicode?) passwords?
Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
Password Backup Tool has been updated to 1.1.0:
- Smarter character escape algorithm for XML and CSV files
- UTF-8 for passwords files and on import from Chromium based browsers
- Internals re-arrange and cleanup
- Re-align dialogs properly
- Fix other errors inherited from parent add-on

Re: Password Backup Tool
I'd like to export my Firefox passwords to CSV using the FF Password Exporter and then import the CSV File into PM using the Password Backup Tool.JustOff wrote:Password Backup Tool has been updated to 1.1.0:
Perhaps someone has tried the same and can tell me if it works smoothly. That would be great!
Re: How to import passwords from Opera to PM?
FF Password Exporter creates CSV files with incomplete data, missing several important fields. I could try to extend Password Backup Tool with the ability to import from Firefox directly, but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort. Does anyone else really need this?
