PM is slowing and temporary freezing after a few hours from start

It happens especially after a period of idle.

I'd suspect W10's power settings (probably varies acc. to the sub version of 10) or your security software/settings. There might be some generic/System issue on wake.

You need to fill in some gaps for those who use the same W10 version so they can test.

I mean "idle" for Pale Moon (open but unused for a while).
My system has no special settings for power (hibernate/sleep...) except turning off the monitor after 15 min. and I made no change since previous version of PM which worked very well.
My Windows = Windows 10 Pro/version 1607
AV =Bitdefender

Sorry , but I can not miss the AV.
Better I switch back to the previous version of PM (although I do not think it's the AV)

Windows defender? This is very basic, weak protection, and that is recognized even by Microsoft.
In my opinion Bitdefender is one of the best AV, It saved me many times.

The windows protection is fine.
Since Win8 the Defender include Microsoft Security Essentials

Dont listen on crap tests like https://www.av-test.org

I speak from my own experience, not from other sources, because I use BDF from years. I never had fear about "wich page I open?" and I don't want "to be careful" each time about wich page I'll open.
And if supposing this issue is from a bad interaction between browser and AV, it is necesarely only the AV fault?

So don't use Windows :D . Third party antivirus programs on Windows 10 is unnecessary and very often buggy as you see.

Yea, very "useful" advice if you are from PM staff.

Try/test it without Bitdefender; re-enable Windows Defender and ensure you run the BD uninstall routine, reboot, check WD has updated definitions and that the Windows firewall is active. Load some of your usual sites and walk away for a few hours or do that before leaving it overnight.

It's standard troubleshooting for connection issues where a non-Enterprise/uncommon software is concerned, most security software has given Pale Moon users such issues in the past.

I use W7, no AV or Defender for the last 2 months - but I also keep all 'targeted' 3rd party software updated and have some passive blocks in place against known bad sites - nothing active except Evorim Free Firewall in Credulous mode. I also have the same power settings as yourself, monitor only sleeps after 15 minutes.

Yes, it seems is a lot of work here because I think just deactivating Bitdefender won't let me enable Windows defender (Windows defender was deactivated automatically by Bitdefender installation). So I think Bitdefender should be uninstalled before. But first I will try a clean install of PM, maybe is something here. Thanks anyway!

It's been some months so can we have more details as per the Sticky, please?

Can you use Process Explorer (Highlight Pale Moon and use the View menu to enable the lower pane and show .dlls) to check for 3rd party files/modules loaded with the .dlls for Pale Moon? 3rd party = non MS, Intel, AMD/ATI, Nvidia, Mozilla, Moonchild Productions or The ICU Project (but look for non-Windows MS files: Windows Live, MS Office, etc.).

What is Hang output from when Pale Moon freezes/fails to respond might also be useful.

Yes is long time ago but I decided to live with it, hoping it will go away with 27.5.0 but is not.
I will do what you have indicated.
